Grant oyt? Sure his game wasn't as good as the previous week, but he was still better than others like Dickson and Stringer. No way do you drop him after one average game where the opposition locked it up into a slog.

Dickson was excellent yesterday I thought. Not in terms of possessions (though he had some good ones), but his work rate across half forward was huge (see J Grant's goal). We've missed Honey and to a lesser extent Crameri in this regard.

Think we need Talia back in to combat their tall forward line.

Out:

Webb, Dale
Talia, Crameri

Not sure on the Ruck situation. Probably just go in with Minson and Roughead again then sub out Minnow again (how long can this go on for though?)

You mean the same Talia that had 3 bags of goals kicked on him this season and got beat up by a 2nd year forward in Hogan? He's out of form. Hamling is yet to have a bag kicked on him and he played well against St Kilda. Why should we be dropping in form players for out of form players???

Who's kicked bags on Talia this year? Pavlich kicked 5 but thats about it, Jordan Roughead had most of the goals kicked on him against Hawthorns Roughead and Talia was actually on Pedersen a lot of the game against Melbourne.

I was disappointed in Dickson (and Stevens) because i thought their possession numbers were too low for players of their age and experience relative to some others in the side. I also thought the work rate of all forwards was below par and one of the reasons the saints stayed so close. no one seemed to be working to get away form their man and give an option. Funny how people watching the same game can see it differently but thats footy and an open forum i guess.

Out: Dale, Grant, Hamling
In: Crameri, Biggs, Talia

Got smashed by the Saints in most stats, and would've lost if they were more clinical with their inside 50s. Crameri will add some experience, muscle and hard running to the side, and Biggs, who's apparently in good form for Footscray, will win plenty of the ball, something we struggled with.

Dale is not up to the pace of AFL football yet. Does nice things, but not having enough of an impact to merit a spot over some of our reserve players. Grant works hard, but still not damaging enough with his disposal, and slows play down far too often.

Talia a straight swap for Hamling because he's a much better 1v1 defender. I'm open to Hamling being tried in the Josh Gibson role like he was in the NAB Cup, but as a Key-Defender, he lets his opponent get away from him too easily.

Lin Jong in his round 1-5 form would be fantastic right now, but he's been terrible ever since his injury. I'd be open to Campbell coming in for Minson (who was poor), but I don't think Beveridge rates him at all.
No to all suggestions.

Dale, Grant and Hamling all did enough, IMO. OTOH, Talia Biggs and Crameri were ordinary, at best, in the ressies. Again, my opinion.

In Crameri,Cordy
Out Dale Minson

Hopefully Honeychurch does a bit today as his pressure is handy.
I'm one of the few who can see future for Cordy at the Bullogs, and whilst he was fantastic last week, he was ordinary today, and I wouldn't promote him. Crameri needs another week at least.

Minson was ... not great, but he needs a real run towards the end of the year to make a decision on his future. I can't believe people would consider dropping Dale.

Nothing against Bailey, I think he's been great. I just think CD has done enough to earn a spot now and his body is probably more afl-ready than dale's.
I just think that, as big a heart as CD must have, he's not an elite disposer of the ball, which he needs to be to overcome his stature.

For those who can remember, players like Ray Huppatz (until Lethal fell on his knee) could play whilst being a midget, owing to their disposal magic. Same for Callery, to a lesser extent. Latterly, Libba senior comes to mind with his handballing in particular.

CD is just too damn small. Sorry.

Disposal is one of CD's elite skills. Didn't he have a 90+% kicking efficiency in last year's U/18 champs?
Apparently he had a kick rating (hitting targets relative to expected) of +20% in the championships. He certainly is an elite kick.

Yep elite user on both sides of the body. Not sure why people would say he isn't a good user. Hes a great user of the ball and plays inside and out.

He had a DE% of 92% at the champs last year, and watching him in the vfl in the last few weeks, he uses it beautifully. His disposal set up most of our scores today.

If he doesn't make it, it will probably be due to him not being extremely quick. But i'd back him to make it, cos he has everything else in his game.

Morris wasn't great last week either but found himself straight back in the seniors. I'm thinking Crameri has similar credits in the bank and comes back in. For who, I don't know.

Didn't see much of today's game mostly just the second quarter, but from what I saw Redpath, Rat and CD were looking good. Lachie did some really dumb things.

Yep, my copy of the prospectus tells me he had a Kicking Efficiency of 90.3% across his 10.3 kicks per game. 93.1% for handballing which gives him 91.7% across 20 touches per game. Was ranked number 1 for score assists in the SANFL seniors and kicked it to a mark inside 50 3 times out of 7 in the Championships. Elite.

If CD doesn't make it at the top level it won't be due to his disposal.... He can kick both feet, handball both hands and has elite vision...

Ok after today's VFL game I dint think we'd be rushing out and loading up the team with too many from that game. Crameri was hardly sighted and Ayce and big Tom C were average at best. Simply put they were thrashed in the ruck.

I think big Jack was very good and he could come in for Minson I reckon. Otherwise, Daniel was pretty good and could come in, and I'd love it to be so. But for me, just the one likely change. Minson out for Redpath.

Out: Dale

In: Crameri

The obvious choice here. Like others have said, we need to smash Carlton and Crameri will provide a lot more at the contest than Dale. Wouldn't make any other changes at this stage.

Amazed how many people want to bring in a out of form Crameri. He's been decidedly average most of this year. He should stay in the VFL untill he proves himself, doesn't sound like he did today.

I probably go CD for BD and Big Red for Big Will with Tommy spelling Roughy in the Ruck.
