Davidson has been consistently good on the wing and pretty poor forward. It makes far too much sense to just play him in the position he made his own.

Sanders had started performing at half forward aswell.

Someone mentioned earlier that Baker would be a decent dedicated sub option. Could be right, unless he's being given a chance vs an under-manned Essendon. Poulter needs a full game and could be deciding game for him too.

Good to see Buss get a gig but Jones dropped is odd, Davidson for Baker is such a strange swap, what does buku have to do to get back in? How’s McNeil & Poulter still I’m the side, where’s Harmes? so many questions.

I think Davidson needs to improve defensively and get a little more physicality in his game. Still developing, won't hurt him to be omitted and get a kick up the bum

Yeah I posted something similar. He makes sense as an in if we are looking for someone as an impact sub with pace rather than just our 23rd player in this role coming on at 3 quarter time and having little to no impact

Great to see Buss in the side but seriously baker offers nothing. He might play well against the bombers due to their list but he isn't going to help us beat a top 8 side. Would have liked to see Sellwood given a chance to see what he brings. We know what we get out of Oscar, he's a battler at best and I'm really disappointed in the match committee going back to the same old fixes.

Poults, just doesn't do enough, once again against Essendon he might at this stage but he isn't going to bridge the gap with the top 8 sides.

Not at all happy with team selection, or the associated explanations.

Jones needed to stay in. He wasn't the problem last week, besides JOD could have done with a rest if they really wanted Buss to come in.

Davidson has been great all year and was played out of position last week. If you want to give him a rest then say managed not omitted, so you can bring him straight back in next week.

VDM was poor last week and badly needs a rest, yet stays in, whilst Buku is stuck as an emergency.
Anthony Scott has been playing well in the VFL and would have been a potential direct replacement for McNeil whose form has really dropped off of late.

The potential passenger list for tomorrow's game is long, and whilst we will hopefully still be able to get over the Dons, we have undoubtedly self-created a bunch of unnecessary selection conundrums for the GWS match.

Buku seems harsh but I get it. His forward pressure and ground ability just isn't good and when he is the third tall, it stands out and hurts even more at times. If Darcy or Naughty missed, he would be first in, but I think we value the fwd pressure and run around the two key pillars that Buku is just an awkward fit in that role.

Now I'm not saying Poulter or whoever else is the right player for that role, but the coaches clearly don't think it's Buku.

Yep has to be Baker or McNeil, but prefer Bakes for this role. We'll see.

We’ve used illness/injured/omitted through the year.

The choice of language reads they’ve been dropped.

The entire bench is just average. So incredibly average.

If I had it my way, I’d have the entire emergency list in the team instead of Baker, Poulter, Cleary, JJ & McNeil. Take your pick.

I think with Davidson we may be seeing a first year guy, who played a lot of footy earlier in the year maybe just hitting a bit of a wall. His last 3 games have been a bit down on his earlier output and what we don't see (his GPS and speed markers) may be reflecting this also. Coaches obviously rate him very highly so it's not a huge slap in the face to have a quick spell in the VFL in your first year after a big block of footy. I think he makes his way back in pretty quickly, I'm a huge fan.

It's starting to feel a bot desperate at the selection table. Once again the match committee have no clear idea who our best team is.

We should win this but I'm doubtful we will win enough remaining games.

Can someone please explain to me how on earth McNeil kept his spot. His game last week was arguably as bad as Arty's zero possession game.
