Changes vs Essendon

I don't want to change anyone's mind, I just want to know what they are thinking and why. They must have some kind of justification for it, especially when you pick Bastinac who had 31 disposals, 5 inside 50s and of those 5 they resulted in 3 goal assists or Tarrant who kicked 3 goals and had 2 goal assists and has averaged 2.4 goals per game over the last 7 weeks.

There must be a reason people are throwing up these names. Perhaps I am a masochist, but I am curious why. :p
Yes, Tarrant kicked 3 goals but they were all gimmes in the last quarter when the dogs were out of legs and he didn't go up for marks with an opponent on his tail.
He's a good kick, but Warren, Edwards and Pederson would have all out marked him today if they were played instead.
At this stage of the season and his development, I think we'd be wise to use a three towers forward line of Petrie, Hansen and Pederson instead.

Just playing devil's advocate for a while: Does anyone else think there was a big chance of Pederson for Tarrant before Brad Scott felt the need to defend Robbie against the jeering minority?

Apart from several handballs at team mates feet, he played really well in the FC final. Took several good marks and was kicking accurate long passes.
Had Tarrant not got those easy goals in the last then it may have occurred, but not now

Roughead's 200cm and Lake, who was hovering nearby, is 195. Grant's 192. Tarrant tried but had a tough time with the Dogs defending well.

Warren and Azza couldn't have taken one mark unless it was on the fast lead to a ball delivered well (something we weren't doing too well). Pedo? He still would've had a tough time of it with those defenders only having to spoil and our midfield down. We had SFA F50 entries for much of the game too.

Bit rich from the king of wanting to rest blokes.
Strange comment. I appear to have got it right this week re Patch, before that I cannot recall the last time I said someone should be rested.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Garlett dropped. He has played better games than that one and been dropped.

I CBF'd searching so I'll take your word for it.

I didn't mind Garlett's game but someone has to miss out and he's in the mix.

Wasn't our best game but we did win by 9 goals. Out scored them by 50 points in the second half with a lot of players down.

The only change should be Adams in, the question is for who?

Garlett: I thought he was good and was a little terrier in the packs. Missed some tackles but was one of few that were laying tackles.

Campbell: He is a sub only

MacMillan: Poor game, made some dreadfull mistakes and panicked a bit. The question is do you drop him after one poor game?

Mullet: Looked good across half back and deserves another game.

I think it will be out of the above four as to who makes away and whoever it is will be unlucky.

will be tough in the clinches this week no room for those not willing, to cop contact.

Panics too much Chad, he lacks composure at times and is prone to coughing up an easy ball. I think he will be a good player but I think he needs to go back to the VFL and work on a few things.
Fair call BE, Liam Anthony had to go back and do his time , so did Lachie and Cunners, so I cant see why Jmac cant .....Im a fan of Jamie but the bullies game was terrible and not for his highlights reel.

I doubt very much he will be dropped this week.
Think Bon subbed him to give him a wake up call and hopes he will come out fired up next week.

I think we really did miss Adams and LT's ability to kick goals early on. But then again, we weren't exactly getting the ball inside 50 in the first half. I agree with you, Adams to come back in, Campbell as the sub or to be given a full game in the VFL, Cruise had an ok game, would be stiff to be dropped. I would give Campbell 4 quarters at VFL level, and leave Mullett as the sub. McMillan to get a second chance.

Letting Anthony and Cunnington have a run at VFL level has worked for both.

Very strange comment. You are firmly in the no rest/don't flirt with form camp.

Adams's will play against Essendon. Mullet, as good as he was in that last quarter will probably not.

Garlett tackled well yesterday, it is no disgrace to be brushed aside by Ryan Griffen. He is nigh on untackleable.

Cunnington, Garlett, Bastinac, Gibson and Anthony were all very good.

I'd be very surprised if Robbie was in danger. He kicked four just last week. If any of the talls go it would be Hansen.

IN: ADAMS
OUT: MACMILLAN

Love Jamie, future leader of the club, and will be a gun, but it's his turn for a go in the VFL to regain some form, it worked with Ben, no reason why it wont work with him. Plus Mullet was fantastic in the last, and deserves a crack.
