They have said time and time again he is doing a mini preseason and not injured.

I have no doubt, all things being equal they would have preferred an extra week for precaution.

But given the outs, he is in.

If he was actually injured, he wouldn't be playing.
It's probably half of it being Tex wanting to show leadership when the chips are down, and the other half is that they feel he's ready to play at near optimum level.

How Tex performs this round would be telling on his overall fitness and how well he's been managed in the recent month.

If it is true which I doubt then they've cut his mini pre season short and gone against their plan so are second guessing themselves

Not a good sign that they know what they are doing

People saying this is our season, but really there's no value in beating Freo if we don't beat Hawthorn. They'd want to be sure Tex can get through the next two weeks.

Completely agree about needing the Hawthorn win to validate winning the Freo clash.

Just spitballing be might be why they brought Tex back early, so he’s got some touch back for the one that matters.

Might also be the fact we’re backed into a corner, and if Tex isn’t injured he’d be chomping at the bit to be out there. It’s been hard watching this season slip from our fingers.

So we have lost 3 of the last 4 and no omissions for poor performers. Talk about backing your players in

Oh that's right, we dropped a couple of kids last week.

It reminds me of a former coach of ours.... just can't put my finger on who....

Total shit.

I don’t care if the players we bring in are worse, the complete lack of accountability via selection is a joke.

For the first time in several years, a Crows match is coming up and I actually don't give a damn what happens.
My mate and I and my brother rotate the away games for a bbq and drinks. I told my mate dont bother. He doesnt have Foxtel and the team doesnt interest me enough to wait for the delay. I will still watch on Fox but doing the 'drinks and bbq' has lost its glitter

Why is it panic?

It makes sense, if he was right to go, play him.
So we've gone from he needs a mini pre-season, to yesterday saying he might be back by Hawthorn - congrats Matt Crouch on being captain this week - to today Hey look he's back to go play a shit Freo team without its best player even though 6 days later we play Hawthorn.

Except he has played injured this year (and last year, and the year before and the...)

And your line of "give the outs, he is in" is what I mean by panicking.

We're playing Fremantle and we're worried we're going to be beaten by them even without Fyfe, and so we're pushing go earlier than we otherwise would have.

We win last week, no way is he playing this week.

We're desperate for the win - which is no bad thing, but let's not pretend this selection is not a roll of the dice born out of the fact we are out of the 8 and feel we have to go all in.

As of yesterday Pyke said he wasn't ready, might've been available next week, but more likely after the bye. Pyke said Crouch wpuld captain.

Now he's in.
I think you may need to listen to yesterday's press conference again. Don never said "more likely after the bye", with regard to Tex. He did say Rory was more likely post bye.

Are you insane. You want to drop more senior players when we have six of our best dozen players out.
The side is struggling because we have had to play so many inexperienced players as it is and you want to bring in more.
Well at least if you were selecting the side we would have a good chance at Rankine.

Bevridge did it routinely in the Bulldogs premiership year and they were just as badly hit with injury as we are.

Yes ....I pointed out in another thread how ironic it was that Otten was omitted after his best game of the year against the Dogs (our last win)
Since then Mackay, Atkins and Kelly have completely sunk it up.....but hold their spots ????? Even after a 90 point disinterested effort ?????
Oh yeah....they are in for their run and carry.....sure.
WHERE the hell is any accountability in this ENTIRE organisation ????
It’s just depressing seeing no omissions after every loss.

cause the kids played crap.

There is a lot of “do something! do anything! it doesn’t even matter if it’s stupid, just do Something” going on at the moment.

Fair enough to call for change if you can name a specific change, but the whole “just drop senior players” makes me think of 1980s amateur football.

Not really. I have said all I have heard or read. I have nothing else to add.

Thanks Mick.
If we need a summary of all the rumours on social media we will give you a call.

You argued with such passion and certainty I was convinced that you were in the change rooms at half time in the grand final, standing next to Tex.

Tex was saying he’d be back for the Hawks game Tuesday last week on MMM, maybe know some facts first?

So if players beneath them barely touched it in the SANFL it's still ok to bring them into the senior side.
