I like your thinking. I'm just not sure that we'll be bringing in two talls, at the expense of two smalls.

Yeah probably, but our smalls have just been tearing oppositions to shreds lately as well.:(
Trade Wright for Vince or Mookay, but getting subbed out after resigning for 2 years doesn't say much for Wrighty. Leaving Jaensch til 4th quarter to sub out Wright when it should have been Danger was another mistake. Hope having Bailey back can put some steel into our coaches, because they have been crap since the bye.

Subbing Wright was the correct decision.. which is scary considering it means that he was having less impact than a one armed player. Sadly, that's the truth of the matter.

Then again, subbing Jaensch in was always going to be a mistake, no matter who he replaced. Selecting him in the first place was a bigger mistake though.

Okay, my thoughts for this week are similar to a few others.
Out: Danger (Inj), Thommo (Inj), Jaensch (Omit)
In: Grigg, Kerridge, Johnston

B: Otten - Rutten - Brown
HB: Henderson - Talia - Laird
C: Smith - Sloane - Kerridge
HF: Lynch - Johnston - Vince
F: Porplyzia - Jenkins - Lyons
1R: Jacobs - Douglas - Crouch
I: van Berlo, Mackay, Grigg
S: Wright

With Wright to drop out and Mackay to sub if either of Thommo or Danger pull up.

With Jenkins' performances on a slow decline, I'd almost like to see us give him a couple of weeks back at Sturt once McKernan returns. I think he needs a bit of a break away from the spotlight and attention he gets from being our #1 forward.

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing if we couldn't work Lynch and Johnston into some sort of dual HFF tandem, both playing a similar role to that which Lynch is playing at the moment. I think we could even play 1 as a winger if required, or push 1 back into defense as an extra loose man when required. We could then keep 2 of Porps, McKernan, Jenkins (and Walker next year) closer to goal.

Given all the dead wood we have to offload this year, I would be very surprised if he wasn't signed for another 12 months regardless of whether he achieves those performance measures.

No doubt he'll get another year...and deservedly so (albeit his form drop is alarming). It's more the issue (or perception) that his contract status may be influencing his own desire not to miss any matches and that we're 'going along with it'...

Yep this looks about right :thumbsu:

Like it James.

Seeing there is no Smack, LJ needs to get a go for the rest of the season to see where he's at. Lynch is in the side for the long haul now and we need to have some more options up forward. LJ, Lynch and JJ can rotate through deep forward to high HFF and not give the Cats defenders one player to match up on.

Smith to a wing and Wright to sub is good, Crouch to play a full game in the guts or Lyons in there as well. Sloane off HBF is also a good idea talked about earlier. Smith burnt some passes on Friday and I would rather see him being an run carry and kick 80 metre player than trying to spot chip kicks and stuff them up.

Danger and Thompson both out with us playing against a gun team is the best thing for us.

Will force others to stand up in the clinches and show something.

Don't think we'll get close to winning, but I'm confident that 1-2 players will emerge in our midfield with strong performances.

Does Bling get a go to release Smith into the middle? Just putting it out there.

With Danger out and Thompson maybe missing, now seems like the perfect time to put him in the midfield and see what he can do. If Tambling has to come in for that to happen, i'd grudgingly accept it.

Is Scott Thompson a likely out or just a big footy wish?

Has the club released something.

Still don't want Tambling to play. See no benefit in that.

Why are people suggest Tambling. I don't care if he gets 45 possessions and 8 goals at SANFL. He is not good enough at AFL level.

He has played 2 out of a total 39 games since Sando has been in charge. He will not be on our list at the end of the year.

Playing him now would be absolute stupidity.

I'm pretty sure there was something about a groin injury yesterday or something

Better off giving CEY a couple of games to get a taste of it.

CEY who is in and out of the SANFL reserves, and would be a delist candidate?

Contracted until the end of 2015. :thumbsu:

If Porps and Reilly didn't have to earn their spots through the SANFL, then why should he?

When was his contract extended? His draft contract was due to end this year.

In any event, he's still in and out of the Eagles reserves side, that's not any position from which to receive a call up to the AFL side.
