Also, we have had shit luck with the weather on game days this year.

Yes, I know we should be able to play in any conditions but we suck in the wet and we've copped an incredibly high amount of rainy matches this year.

Will AO be a drier track than AAMI?

"Griggy's had a really good season. If it's Grigg, Petrenko or Callinan they don't have to be Danger. They just have to play their role."

I think this is half of our problem, we too bloody happy with blokes "playing their role", how about expecting them to be more than just "okay" for once, this isn't the Bridgewater B-Grade, this is AFL football. Sure these guys aren't Danger, but lets put some expectations on individuals to do more than just the bare minimum.
I think the emphasis was on them playing their role (not Paddy's). Not sure how you get get the inference that he's ok with them putting up an 'OK' performance.

I'm not surprised to see LJ not selected. He needs to repeat the performance from last week. He will need to string 3 or 4 of those games together.

He has now captured the selectors attention, now he needs to put his selection beyond doubt and one very good SANFL game won't do that.

SMACK was only suspended for 2 games but he will not be an automatic selection next week. It's not like he locked his own selection away with how he performed.

I don't think anyone has issues with your historical analysis of a players selection. The issue was with your rigid view of the future based on previous selection, i.e. things don't change. For whatever reason it appears nothing will change with Johnston but that still doesn't support the premise that games played x time on our list = quality of player. All it means is the obvious, that the coaches haven't been selecting a player. I don't put blind faith in coaches. He'll be playing for the Bulldogs next year.
After 5 years on AFL team lists, I sincerely doubt that anyone - including the Bulldogs - will be giving him a 3rd AFL life. My guess is that he'll be tying on the boots with North Adelaide again in 2014, this time sans-AFL contract.

Oh stop

When looking at the make up of an AFL list with list management, you need to take into consideration a clubs need and wants, players available and draft picks available.

If Sando delists a KPP with the draft sanctions this year, he deserves to be fired if we have another bad year as we will not come close to finding someone close to replacing him. Sam Siggios is still 2 years away from playing AFL and that's who we are looking at drafting again.

You don't have a clue.

Again, time in list x games played = quality of player. It's getting old, Vader, we could get a monkey to do that analysis, and frankly a monkey would be much more entertaining.

I was operating under the assumption that Kerridge is still injured. Happy to include him at Petrenko's expense if that's not the case.
Kerridge played a full & a good game for Sturt last week ... whereas Petrenko was concussed early in the game.

It might be old.. but that doesn't make it any less true.

Which club is going to draft a player who has already been rejected by 2 clubs and not deemed good enough to gain selection at either of them? It's not as if he played 30 games at one club and 40 at the other. He played 2 games for Sydney and 1 for Adelaide.

Fancy having a lot of wet weather games in winter.....

If a footy team can't play the wet weather well, may as well pack it in. Footy is a winter sport!

On the list of reasons why we miss the finals, the wet weather rates very, very low...

Extended bench of Tambling, Thompson, Kerridge, Lyons, Grigg, Callinan, Henderson.

Assuming Lyons and Hendo are locks that leaves room for two of Tambling, Thompson, Kerridge, Grigg and Callinan. Hopefully Grigg can get the nod.

Can you really see a club like the Bulldogs going "nah he's useless because the Crows didn't pick him". I could see that happening if you were the head recruiter, but otherwise I just can't see it.

Luke Thompson in reads like one of Henderson or Otten is going to be an out tomorrow afternoon as well Henderson is going to be dropped tomorrow afternoon, because he's on the extended bench.

Why I don't know, Otten is the one who should be playing SANFL between the two of them this week, or is Thompson going to play forward? Becasue Otten was less than a non-entity in our forwardline last week, while Henderson at least gave some drive from defence while playing wide of I think Macaffer?

Good selections of Grigg,Kerridge and L Thompson but can not understand how callinan and Tambling get selected when they are clearly not going to be at the club for much longer. matty wright extremely lucky to hold his spot after two atrocious performances in a row. Typical conservative crow selections as per normal. Club should be looking towards the future.

Sando really has performed poorly with his selections this year and it really is something he needs to address. The way he has handled Crouch and Lyons was inept to say the least. Lewis Johnson needed to come in this week. We need a KPF who can kick straight in the side as a priority. LJ is that and is in form. We dont pick him.
It is safe to say I have lost faith in Sando and I doubt he will be our next premiership coach.

seriously what is the point of Callinan playing? Called a must in by radio dynamo's Rowe&Bone  , doesn't make sense is Sando just going to select him to show how superduper serious he is about not throwing in the towel this season.

Kedge and Grigg should be ins and hey look Luke Thompson plays for the Crows apparently.

I'm a bit suprised he hasn't been demoted to sub again (assuming we pick our sub from the bench like usual). We usually like using to sub role as last chance saloon.
