I reckon it's Gallagher. Harmes, Macrae, Daniel all premiership players who know finals well, and Freijah is so composed and will do great for the finals run. Gallagher can come in with some burst.

The only one that I’m probably concerned about is West over McNeil. McNeil has well and truly earned his spot so it’s a small gripe but I do worry about him in a high pressure final.

He’s shown the tendency to panic under pressure at times and I’d feel we’d be better served with a harder player in a final but I’ll live with this team selection.

As an aside, when both he and Duryea were delisted (albeit with a promise to redraft them) I would never have envisaged them playing in a final for us this year.

McNeil and Vandermeer both play our high half forward roles, running and chasing and filling space from the flanks down the wings. The West/Harmes role is deeper forward (Weightman actually gets further up the ground) and often has a negating aspect to it. Harmes had the better game last week and he’s more versatile, and a proven finals player, so while I feel for West I’m fine with his inclusion over West.

If there’s any doubt on Treloar I’d prefer we don’t play him. Not only could we be a man down early in the game tomorrow night, but if he pings it that’s his season done. Not worth the risk

Need to get someone to line up Sicily’s dodgy shoulder. I have had 2 shoulder reco’s (Sicily is due) and they are f**king nasty. It is very hard to take a bad shoulder out of the psyche on a contest. I would have Riley West (too late) pulling that f**ker out of the glen-humeral joint.
