Our side is definitely not balanced.... Jones, Mckenzie, Trengove, Magner; too many in and under players, with no runners on the outside!!

List is just not up to AFL standard and our application is even worst!!

Agree our midfield isn't balanced at the moment.

But it's also significantly weakened.

Sylvia, Moloney, Martin missing from our mid/ruck rotations.

I think we need to get some skill back in the line-up, without compromising solid defensive play.

So (pending VFL performance).

IN (Out): Strauss (Macdonald), Tapscott (Green), Morton (Dunn), Martin (Sellar), Blease (Bennell)

- Green and Dunn need to go for mine; poor performance all round from them.
- Strauss, Tapscott, Morton, Martin and Blease gets five skilled players in... replacing players they are no doubt MORE skilled than.

out: 10-12 hacks
in: 10-12 guys who are worse

going to be the worst year in our clubs history

shameful, when do we play GWS

.

This, except that I doubt Strauss is ready to play AFL yet... needs a few more games under the belt first probably in terms of match conditioning and fitness. In that case I guess Dunn would stay, or Bennell maybe.

I think thats why McKenzie has to go. Is well behind Magner, Jones and Trengove.

I wonder if Frawley took something from watching Ben Reid outsmart Reiwoldt tonight.

I certainly took a lot from Ben Reid's game, he certainly made Riewoldt look confused out there, went the body and Jack's influence was next to none. Having said that Frawley has been very good against Riewoldt in recent times.

Id use Tyrone Vickery to play someone into form.

Tyrone's had a shocker start to the year, alternatively this is his chance to play into some form.

Cut out goals from Deledio and Martin and Brad Miller will be the only bloke you need to worry about making a contribution to a winning score.

We need to cut out Deledio and Martin full stop. Can't allow Deledio to run out of defence as easily as we allowed Shannon Hurn last week. Martin, like Vickery, hasn't had a great start to the year but again has a chance to play into some form.

Bennell has talent, but has there been a more 'meh' 52 game career?

A whole 3 touches today.
There is no value in having pace or skill if you hardly ever get your hands on the pill. He tackles weakly, if he absolutely has to, and avoids anything physical if possible. He's always played thus. Yesterday's one possession per quarter was well down on his career average of two and a half. Thanks, but no thanks Jamie.

Our players who should be playing those rolls are all out with injury.

I totally agree that McKenzie needs to be dropped.. our midfield is massively unbalanced and Jordie simply can't cover the ground.. he is slow and a long way from match fit..

Dam I hope Sylvia is ready to come back, saying we miss him is the greatest understatement ever..

Strauss isn't playing for Casey today so I doubt he will be back in the side this week.

Ones we want to see play well are Blease, Morton, Couch, Tappy and Tynan. Obviously Moloney and Martin are two who will probably come back this week as well so there are a few options to go with.

Yeah, he's named on the ball CFH.

You probably just weren't looking for him there :p

Really? When the Casey twitter feed mentioned the Melbourne players playing today he wasn't named.

I thought McKenzie was one of your best last year, and fought out a lot of games when many others didn't. Does he have any credit in the bank or am I alone in my opinion of him from 2011?

I haven't checked that, but on Demonland they posted the 'official team' with him and Tapscott named in the center square.

We shall have to wait and see I guess.

I think you'll find most Dees fans love Jordie.

But the stark truth is that he's behind Moloney, Magner, Jones and Trengove for inside roles.

We become way too one dimensional with those four plus Jordie and Bate in there.

It pains me to agree with you because i really love how hard jordie tries. But the truth of it is he is outclassed by most afl mids. Who are our outside mids though thats a problem. Wary of dropping one of the few guys who you can at least rely on totackle and try. Especially when we don't have a better replacement ready.

We need to get some tacklers up forward. Too often no one stay down because they're all marking forwards. Would love to see Tappy play a full game forward when fit. will fight and tackle and we know hes a great kick so could kick some goals.

Yup. He is a player you cant hate, tries his hardest every week and isn't afraid to hurt himself in the process. Knows his limitations too (see his hb to kick ratio)... the problem is his limitations. Doesn't do much else apart from extract.

Tapscott and Strauss will hopefully get full games for Casey and be able to come back. Both should be hungry after injuries have ruined their past years. Both are named on-ball too.

I'd love to win this game purely to see bigfooty explode.

I believe Morton is the definition of an Outside Mid haha...
Outside of that though; Bennell is very much an outside player as is Blease, not sure if either have the tank to play as a midfielder though.. Bail should be going through the middle IMHO.

Outside of that Gysberts and Jetta are in between much like trengove.

Outside his tackling, which is commendable enough, Jordy is an average footballer. He certainly does not strike fear into the heart of the opposition.
