Mixed bag, stoked for Crouchy, I like Hendo's versatility.

Lyons out is the big one, hopefully just soreness or a rest (weird timing with the bye coming up though), how Porp's has stayed in ahead is baffling

Anybody think Lyons will be a late in for either Thommo or Mookay? I have a sneaking suspicion one of them will miss.

Have to be in with a crack if we play our best footy. Freo are a good side and we only lost by 7, with weather playing a major role. I think we can match Sydney. Great to see Hendo back in, was wondering what was going on with him. His ability to play forward and midfield is very important. We look better with him in the side. I'm assuming he had an injury that wasn't healing properly.

I thought Brown had hurt his calf, he was getting it rubbed at half-time. Did well considering

If Porps is to play it needs to be as a sub where hes actually played ok. I too think Lyons will be a late inclusion and Jetta out certainly helps. Our team looks to have more flexibility this week but whether or not that helps remains to be seen.

Love the ins, wish it was Porps out and Lyons stays in.

I guess the thinking is that we need mature bodies against the Swans? I dunno, Lyons has been getting a lot of clearances the last few weeks. Could mean Danger will play more in the middle, with Porps playing his role up forward, as well.

Also unsure about Mackay staying in. Surely if he is under an injury cloud it is best to rest him? Not like he was in stellar form.

And so it should. Clearance kings in Sydney, we drop one of our better clearance players of recent weeks and keep in an out of form Porps. Fair dinkum this is just a rubbish decision

I dare say thats why Hendo is in. So he can stay forward and Danger can play in the middle more. If we kept Lyons in as well as Crouch thats just too young a midfield for mine and we would get slaughtered. I dare say Lyons is feeling it after the freo match.

Is Lyons an in for Glenelg?

Wow...that's the biggest Gold Pass decision I've seen in some time.

Playing the Swans and we drop a clearance player

If Lyons had to go, get Riley in there and ditch Porps as well

We are a deadset f...ing useless football club.

F...ing typical gutless selection thats been going on for years. If I needed an example of why we have been so shit for 15 years this is it.

Pathetic

The bolded bit is the crux of it. The team is selected on merit. If you need to include a qualifying statement like that, then you aren't justifying his selection in the team.

If you'd left it at "his work in the middle has been outstanding", then his position would be fine. Being good, for a kid, is probably not good enough to justify keeping his position at this point in time.

He's been impressive regardless of his age and experience. Taking into account his age and AFL experience makes it even more of an achievement. Perhaps the coaches think he'll get smashed physically by the likes of O'Keefe and Kennedy. Personally, I thought he'd done enough to hold his position in the side.
