I think we should rest a load of players too. I know the weather forecast says 24 for Brissie this week but I'm afraid of the humidity and/or hard ground. Didn't Mitch Hahn do his knee there? I've never liked the Gabba.

You'd think the Lions desire to win would be negligible. If we can keep them at arm's length we'll be ok. they seem to fall apart like a house of cards in a hurricane after halftime.

His achilles was a concern after the eagles game. I'd like to give Cordy a full game as well as roberts in the ones. Moz comes back for finals.

I thought it was more a case of using the Achilles as an excuse to rest him early when the Weagles game was done.

I think it is time for a weeks break after the last round if that means more split rounds so be it. Rather that have teams that cannot move up or down getting advantage over teams that can move on the ladder.

Channel 7 can then show the first week of the VFL finals on Friday and Saturday night and the VFL sides will not be depleted by the AFL. I would also move the Brownlow back to the week before the finals could even be on a Thursday night.

I think we make minimal changes this week, just depending on who really needs a rest. Kepping players at home just for the sake of giving them a week off is a waste in my opinion. if they arent sore or have a injury.
That being said, T. Boyd for Redpath or Crameri and Roberts in for Z Cordy or Morris.

Redpath stays in, its too late for Boyd to come back in now imo. In finals when there will be more bombs into the f50 id rather red doing the one on one battles, Boyd just doesn't have the strength yet. Plus the intimidation factor of big red will be required.

The 'intimidation' factor with red is visual.....not physical. Getting destroyed in one on ones

Rests: Dahl, Dickson, Grant, Murphy, Boyd, Crameri

In: Jong, Toyd, Fletcher, Daniel, Dale, Darley

With Roarke Smith doing a knee there is an opportunity to elevate another rookie to the main list. What chance Jordan Kelly plays this week.
He was Footscray best player in the VFL on the weekend.

Would be the last KPP picked in the team for the finals so unless we're pulling out players I can't see it happening a week before finals.

Let's not forget that we do have the first round of VFL finals as well and have to be capable of actually fielding a team.

All for resting one or two guys who need it (Dickson and Crameri are the two that come to mind, perhaps Dahl) but I wouldn't be taking it too far. We still need to win this game and it's for the best if we give the VFL boys some chance of winning also.

After a season spent hearing us being compared to you blokes when trying to make excuses as to why we've been so shit, if you pricks rest a bunch of players and we beat you by enough to jump Carlton on the ladder I will be &$%^*@$ ropeable. I don't mind a win but a win by enough to jump them on percentage would just about do me for the season. If they got band 1 compo for Kruezer i'd completely lose it. Still even if you do rest a few I don't think it will happen. If you've got a key forward who needs to build their confidence up get them in quick smart this week. Frawley even kicked 3 against us for christs sake.:confused::cry::drunk::straining::fire:

As much as I hate the resting players thing, freo finshed top, the have earns the right to do what they please

Having said that, I do agree with what someone said above about having a week off before the finals for everyone. Would make for some manic first finals

Want to be careful though, most teams come back really flat after the bye. Whether that's from extra training over that period I'm not sure, but need to make sure we keep momentum and not flirt with our form.

Hawthorn have put down their premierships to playing tough teams at the end of the year, and not resting players to keep the winning momentum. Only rest those who are sore at a maximum.

Going to be unpopular but give moz a rest the guy is playing with niggles and I'd rather give him the rest than have him get injured.

In: Roberts, Boyd, Daniel
Out: Morris (General Soreness), Honeychurch, Redpath

Maybe rest Hamling too.
Honeychurch...wow you're a hard task master Wiz :-)

I'm tipping small and mobile now. Guys like Daniel, Dale and the Rat to come in at the expense of Redpath and Hamling.

Do we know the extent of Morris and Roughies injuries?
