Murphy said today they wont be resting players


BOB MURPHY says he doesn't expect the finals-bound Western Bulldogs to rest players this week, despite their trip north to meet the bottom-placed Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.

Fremantle has already said it will rest at least six and up to 11 players from its away clash with Port Adelaide, while there has been speculation North Melbourne will also manage its list to face Richmond on Friday night.

But Murphy, who said he had been inspired by his young teammates and their approach to their first finals campaign, insisted the Dogs wouldn't follow suit.

"I'll be out there, all systems go," Murphy said on Wednesday.

"I haven't seen the team yet, but I couldn't imagine there would be too many changes."

The Bulldogs are poised to play finals for the first time since 2010, a year in which they bowed out in a preliminary final to St Kilda.

They have just seven players on their list who played in that game.

A win against the Lions would ensure a home final for the Bulldogs.

No need to rest anyone unless they have a niggling injury. Smash the lions in the first half and then just coast in the second.

I would rest Dal and Crammers though. Maybe even Dickson or Stringer.

Considering Carltank trades their best forwards to the Exers, it wouldn't surprise me they were after the gun defender instead of the gun forward

Brisbane Lions wouldn't want to win as there is a slight possibility that the team that finishes 18th this year may get picks 1 & 2 in the draft (and therefore Weitering and Schache).

Both the Lions and Carlton have potential band 1 free agents (Leuenberger & Kreuzer) which may see them get an extra 1st round draft pick straight after their first selection.

He seems to be playing in the backline more

I am suggesting he comes in. He should come in a a floating back man. His ability to guard space and take an intercept mark is fantastic.

Harris Andrews plays this role with aplomb, and he has an even slighter build than Ayce.
