Squad of 25 apparently

Cornes says it will be finalised tommorow

Welsh among six options

Scott Welsh, yet to play an AFL game this season, is among six possible inclusions for Adelaide against Fremantle on Sunday.

The 2005 leading goalkicker joined Andrew McLeod, Nathan Bock, Hayden Skipworth, Jason Torney and Ian Perrie in a 25-man squad.

Welsh, named at full forward, has played the past four games in the SANFL after his season was interrupted by a stress fracture in his leg and then quad strains.

Adelaide must make at least three changes to replace suspended captain Mark Ricciuto, Brett Burton and Ben Hart.

More details later on the website.

This is the Eagles team for Saturday. Looks like both Skipworth (for Burton ?) and Bock (for possibly Hentschel?) are playing given they are not listed at all for the Eagles - straight outs.

Perrie is listed as an out for the Roosters

And Douglas had 34 touches and 4 goals 2 months ago. Then got injured.

Craigy wants to 'develop the list'. Come on Neil!

What's the point in developing the list to win premierships if as soon as they are developed and ready to win a premiership they're dropped/not selected because we're developing more players!

To all people having wet dreams about Meesen and Douglas there will be a catastrophe for them to play at all this year, next years Pre Season comp they can have a run but the next two months are all about a run at the premiership not player development!

And IMHO Douglas would give us a better chance than if Skipworth was playing.

Do you remember the 97 grand final?

The AFC had a 19 year called Kane Johnson playing...

And Clarke assists us in our run at the Premiership? ;)

Hell yes, has shown alot more then either Meesen or Maric at AFL level and is a proven performer. Maybe Hudson will come in for him but I doubt it, get over you're Clarkeophobia and embrace him!:thumbsu:

I’d say Meesen has shown more at AFL level and he hasn’t played a game.

Anyway, with another 3-4 weeks behind him, Huddo will soon be dislodging Clarke from the side. Now that I will embrace. :thumbsu:

Then you are officially an idiot. Congratulations, you should be proud.

im quite concerned about your love for meesen. he gets destroyed at sanfl level. how would he cope in afl? he would get humiliated. if he played this yr he would encounter sandilands, lade, street/minson, white and presumably cox and white in september.

even the rookies in the bullies lineup would destroy him.

Good to see Skippy back in... You can't just say "Douglas should be in for Skippy because Douglas is young". Douglas has just come back from injury and Skipworth has had some very solid games back in the SANFL. 40 Possies was proof that he should be given the nod.

1. It was a joke.

2. He gets destroyed at SANFL level? You’ve lost any credibility you had, and I bet you’ve rarely, if ever, seen Meesen play this season.

Actually Skipworth's form in the SANFL has been quite ordinary; he went a few matches without even getting 20 possessions. Douglas had 34 possessions three weeks back, 24 a fortnight ago and happened to have a quiet one last week. It’s all about timing; there was a spot open because Burton got injured and Douglas had a poor game, while Skipworth had a ripper.

No Maric/Messen suggests that Biglands is OK.

Both Bock (named as an out for the Eagles) & Perrie named suggests we have a key forward - Hentschel dropping out. I would have no problem playing them both if Trent drops out.

Welsh 12 goals in 3 games.

Perrie 1 goal in 3 games.

And yet Perrie gets the nod, despite the fact that he can barely bend down and he's badly lacking speed, and Welsh has been playing great for the Bloods. Unbelievable.

an old old joke. but behind every joke there is some truth.

ummm ive missed about 5 norwood games this yr. about to be 6. noarlunga is too far from tanunda. i watch football beyond bias to the best of my ability. i admit meesen has improved a lot since last yr. he has knocked nicholas out of the As which is a good sign. but maric is still far ahead of him.
