about a week ago i felt sure there'd be at least one big loss resulting in one big addtion to the player group (eg matera for richo type thing)...now starting to think were gonna be pretty quiet next week now...cant see a whole lot of changes to the player group next year.

weve lost millie, seira and dropped willo (with matera retiring) does that leave us with 38?

any of the rookies a chance to be elevated? Personally i saw subi play a few times and reckon Nicoski should be (looks pretty promising)

reckon haynes will go, prolly to cats by the sound, maybe for a 2nd/3rd round draft pick OR a cam mooney.

others i reckon mite be offered around (and could attract interest) are hansen, braun, chambers, lynch, (hate to lose lynch or chambers but woosha seemed relunctant to play either much).
brauny could attract a lil interest, but prolly worth more to us than what wed get for him.

any thoughts on what we mite look like next year...

others possible: humm, munro, carroll, cox, sampi???
1st 3 prolly wouldnt get anything...last 2 would HATE to lose but i think we will get some pretty BIG offers for. some of the big vic teams need a ruckman, sampi is a potential star any team would luv. heard some dockers trying to say sampi for koops, which i laughed at cos sampi is already better than koops AND he is about 5/6 years younger. worry about some of those dockers...

the forward line doesnt look much of a worry...doogs, gaspar, lynch, gardi/cox/seaby changing down there, staker...fair bit of marking power ...

my opinion is we should go all out for a big defender, not convinced we can rely on glass and carroll. glassy i think needs to be locked in the gym all summer, hes got everything he needs to be a top class backmen(height, speed, marking ability)except the muscle. carroll...well...

if we dont get any big defenders of note, i reckon we should keep lynch and play him CHB...got the muscle to go with the big guys like jon brown, fairly agile, and a booming kick. a spine of Glass, Lynch, Cousins, Gaspar, McDougall looks alright assuming:
1)glassy bulks up
2)lynch gets a game
3) gapsar doesnt get injured.

spose well find out soon...

I don't think we're going to have a big trade week, far from it, and frankly, I'm pretty happy with that- list stability is the way to go.
It would be idiocy to trade Sampi. I would bet money on that coming back to haunt us enormously in a few years time if Trev was stupid enough.
I don't think Cox will be sent out either, not unless St Kilda completely drop their pants around their ankles and bend forward with regard to the deal they put on the table. We have no reason to trade Cox, and some very good reasons to keep him.
The rest of our trade bait are frankly not worth much, and after the Williams/Adkins experiment, I'd prefer to hang onto our own crabs rather than exchange them for same. My best guess is we might do one or two minor deals if budget priced out of contract players are still without a club at the end of the trade week- if noone puts a decent offer on the table for Koops, then yeah, why not? What I am pretty sure of is that I don't think any player currently in our 22 will be traded. No reason to.
Collica and Hansen are both supposed to be less than chuffed with their opportunities this year. If the relationship between the club and them has seriously deteriorated, they could ask to be traded elsewhere, probably at bargain basement prices.

As for the rookies, that is a bit more interesting. Nicoski has real class at WAFL level. He's a bit of a waif at the moment, I'm guessing he won't play more than a game or so next year. His time will come in a season or two when Banfield retires. Very very good prospect, though.
