Heard on channel 9 sport that he is leaving due to not being offered enough money. They didn't mention where he is going. He didn't play much last season so it's his loss, not ours.

taken from cricinfo:

Nine players, including the fast bowlers Don Nash, Mathew Inness and Mark Cleary, have nominated for transfers after missing the first round of state contracts. The list is heavy on bowlers as they look for opportunities or ways to reignite domestic careers after injury.

Inness had already signalled his intention to move away from Victoria, but Nash, the Blues fast man stuck behind Nicholson, Clark and Bracken, and Cleary, who played only four Pura Cup matches for South Australia last season, are also looking for a change. Scott Brant, Queensland's left-arm swing bowler, and Michael Clark, the son of Western Australia's coach Wayne Clark, have struggled in recent seasons with injury and have signed up for the transfer pool's first round.

One name missing from the list was Ian Harvey, who was considering leaving Victoria alongside Inness, Matthew Elliott and possibly Brad Hodge. The states will notify Cricket Australia of a minimum of 14 full-time and three rookie-contracted players by June 17 before the second round of the transfer pool. The squads must be finalised by June 30.

Round one transfer pool Scott Brant (Qld), Mark Cameron (NSW), Michael Clark (WA), Mark Cleary (SA), Mathew Inness (Vic), Don Nash (NSW), Steven Paulsen (Qld), Craig Simmons (WA), Liam Zammit (NSW).

Brant wouldn't be a bad pickup, esp for the ING Cup. I hope that idiot Shippherd stays the hell away from Don Nash.

Cleary is originally from Mildura, so he may favour a return to Victoria. He would be a handy get actually with Inness and Harwood gone. I would also look at Zammit and Simmons who could add some depth to the side.

Zammit would be handy for when White and Warne are on international duty. Although we do have Josh Mangan coming through who might be ready to take the next step next year.

Simmons as an opening batsmen we should really go strongly after. With Elliott gone he could potentially slip straight into our side. Don't know a hell of a lot about him though, could any WA's give us the low down on him?

Very wary of the always injured duo of Brant and Clark, whilst Nash should be avoided at all costs. Brant if fit could be a very damaging bowler, but that is quite an if.

I think a number of these guys might like to look at first class cricket elsewhere in the world like New Zealand.

I Rate Innes as good, Cleary possibly good Nash and Brant ok, but Cleary has definitely not done enough to justify a pay rise.

This is what happens when you waste money on a 33 year old import. But as long as Taity doesn't get called up for international cricket it probably won't hurt, might even give Bailey a few more games. Wouldn't be surprised if we went after Brant.

The 'only 4 games' argument is clutching at straws - iirc we played him in every game he was available for - he got sick in Tassie and then hurt his back later

Brant showed something when given a chance for the Bulls but he has too many quicks ahead of him at the moment.

We would love Clearly in sunny QLD.

Ah, I think it is your loss. Didn't do much? How about crack it for a few games in the Aus A side? Given the depth of fast bowling in this country, that is not something to be sneezed at! He had his best season last season.

Having his best season to date and playing for Aus A is probably enough reason to offer anyone a pay rise. He made the right decision to leave by the looks of things.

Hopefully he choses well and choses Victoria!!

What was Lehmann on about?

"If he wants to move into a mine field in Victoria that's up to him, or he could stay in comfortable South Australia."

I assume he knows about internal stability within Cricket Victoria that is not publicly known. Clearly would be in the top 11 in both comps for the Bushrangers if he went there.

Why New Zealand ?

Do they the same rule as we do here that each state can only have one international player ?

Good news for the redbacks, he is a needed player and is ready to step up to all-round status.
