Jen, do you have any gut feeling about who we will pick as our supplementary player?
I hope it's Steene.

Weak list, although if there was a team to target, it would be Port Adelaide.

Not much tall talent in this years draft outside the top 3-5 picks so it might be trade or free agent if we wish to scratch that key forward itch

Unless we get a few retirements; given we targeted mature and experienced players (apart from Hill) I don't think we'll go too hard at this years FA/Trade.

WHO IS IN LAST YEAR OF CONTRACT?

Aiden Begg, Arlo Draper, Ash Johnson, Cooper Murley, Harvey Harrison, Jeremy Howe, John Noble, Josh Carmichael, Mason Cox, Scott Pendlebury, Steele Sidebottom, Trent Bianco, Trey Ruscoe, Will Kelly.

You could probably put 4 on the "need to prove something" list. Will this be Cox's last year? Howe? Pendles/Steele?

Wilson on that list too.

I think Murley, Begg, Kelly, Ruscoe are most vulnerable… and Wilson too if they are forced to put him on the senior list

I think most of Murley, Kelly, Ruscoe, Bianco and Begg will be gone at seasons end. Draper and Harrison will need to do a bit in 23 to ensure they get another offer. Macrae and McInness are lucky in that they signed to 24 otherwise they could be in trouble. Howe and Pendles might be last season. Suspect Cox and Sidey play on.

We have targeted a few older types for this season so think the coaches are going with the continuation of an older mature team for 2023 but some of the kids need to come on and displace the incumbents.

Agree with most of what you say.
I think Bianco will keep improving though.

All of Sidey, Cox, Pendles and Howe have at least 2 years remaining.
Howe the most suspect to retire.
We shall see.

Depends how our 2023 pans out, if we go well we may consider replacing some veterans with some top end leadership. Otherwise McKay, but at the price they’d be after I kind of wish we went to the draft a couple of years ago for a tall!!

Sidebottom is not out of contract. He said at least twice in interviews last year that's he's contracted for "a couple" more years, and no one seems to have picked up on it.
