My thoughts precisely. I have no issue with low predictions, but get the facts straight. The "player relative ratings" are nonsense. Either some arbitrary figure plucked out of Kingy's arse or some overly complex formula that has no basis on actually playing football. That they allowed Robbo's analysis of Ahern to go to print shows how lazy both Robbo and the Hun are. Kingy reckons Freo, Carlton and us are all "likely" to finish below the Lions and then he puts them second last. Robbo reckons we'll be "perhaps" bottom 5 and then has us entrench in the bottom 5 at 17th...with 8 or 9 wins! The worst part is that the magazine is too glossy to be used as toilets paper.
Same here i have no problems in low predictions either but so many bizzare comments here i don't know if i should laugh or cry.

Someone from GWS has been reading this thread.

I stated a while back that Emma Quayle should be our recruiter... Bang there she is employed by the cashed up bogans from Sydney.

FFS.
I think that she's been approached by a few clubs. She's obviously waited until the plum job came along. Her feel good articles are a nice read. Her talent spotting is still yet to be tested.

I'm not actually sure why GWS need a recruiting department to be honest. It must be real testing deciding what to give up for each elite talent tied to them.

The only article worth reading before the draft are the ones she authors. She obviously spent a huge amount of time actually watching the recruits, and knows what to look for.

I like reading her stuff. She writes well from a human perspective on the kids. Clearly gets to know them.

We'll probably never know on her talent judgement as it'll never get tested at GWS.

And yet robbo and kingy get the $$$s writing in that Hun footy throwaway.

Kingy and Robbo together......

You know those nights where you started drinking with your mates in the early afternoon, at about 8pm drop a line to a connection to get something to straighten you up and keep you going, then find yourself leaving Yah Yahs at 3am looking for one more drink and perhaps a kebab before falling alseep in the front yard and being woken up by the dog/kids nuzzling/poking you in the face?

I can guarantee you that far more sense and original thought was produced by you and your mates at your messiest point during the night than anything these two ******* bufoons can come up with at their most lucid.
Wow. You just described my 20s.

The fact Emma writes really good articles and seems to build relationships well with draftees and industry recruiters (as you'd expect of a quality journalist) doesn't necessarily translate to the trade of recruiting. She might happen to great at it but one skill doesn't assure the other.

Luckily for her she'll be playing with a loaded deck and would have to pull a Barry Prendergadst type of effort to muck it up.

I reached a point some years ago where I decided I wasn't going to insult my intelligence any longer by spending money I had to work to get on glossy, worthless, empty headed crap like "Herald Sun AFL 17." I haven't regretted that decision for one second

Good decision. Excerpt below. Sadly I fell for the glossy advertising that compared Marcus Bontompelli to a classically trained pianis(sic).

North Melbourne will again be dependent on the old brigade for their fortunes in 2017. Desperately needing youth and spark the club controversially cut several in-form veterans mid-game mid-2016 while also losing 2011 best clubman Daniel Wells to Collingwood placing lots of pressure on their geriatric list for 2017. Expect 0 wins and between 20-30 losses. One to watch: Youngster Aaron Black has looked at home up forward in the JLT series with some eye-catching performances alongside Tom Hawkins.

From the HS:

NORTH MELBOURNE

The Kangaroos enjoyed the weekend off ahead of their final JLT Series clash against GWS on Friday.

A couple of high-profile Roos are edging closer to making their returns.

Key forward Ben Brown is in the mix to play Round 1 as well as key defender Lachie Hansen.

Meanwhile, exciting forward Mason Wood is doing everything he can to make his return as early as possible.

Wood was initially forecast to be out for as many as eight weeks, but could return in six.

Jed Anderson won’t play Round 1 as he continues his recovery from a shoulder injury and Ben Jacobs will likely miss at least the first month of the season with a foot fracture.

FINAL JLT GAME: v GWS Giants, Friday (Canberra)

Interesting listening to DalSanto on SEN talking about Wellsy saying that during the last couple of years that he virtually refused to play games because of niggles . On the other hand , guys like Ziebell or Lenny Hayes could have a broken leg and they would still say hey guys let me out there .

yeah, its always interesting hearing a player reconfirm something the coach said 8 years before!

Wellsy starting to cop some serious heat on SEN about his inability to train. I wonder if he is starting to regret moving under the massive spotlight that comes with playing for the Pies.
He gets a bigger paycheck than if he stayed with us. When I'm feeling pragmatic I reckon he sleeps just fine.

I'd take 600k a year to be berated about my inability to train.

It was just a question that he may not be enjoying the constant speculation that is coming with being at Collingwood. He may be fine with it but unless he starts getting on the park it will be coming thick and fast.

Yeah, his choice to go to Collingwood would seem to be at odds with his personal needs to avoid the limelight.
