Collingwood to rebrand to the Melbourne Magpies. The city is big enough for two teams with the same name, and Collingwood is Melbourne's team of choice.
I know it's a sensitive topic but I really do hope the Bulldogs go back to being Footscray. Embrace the name.
As the title suggests, I think some teams could change their image/name/mascot/brand etc.
Western Bulldogs need it the most. They have done so in the past, changing from Footscray to "Western". The problem with this is... where the hell is Western? ... oh you mean the west suburbs of Melbourne? They want to represent all the western suburbs (hence the prior name change), so why not: West Melbourne? To a lesser extent, change "bulldogs" to just "dogs". That way they broaden their appeal imo, instead of having a fuking bulldog which has stuff-all appeal for christ's sake. West Melbourne Dogs.
This is just for fun:
Country Vic Kangaroos
West Melbourne Dogs
Hawthorn to change brown/yellow to maroon/yellow (which is the way they've gone anyway, might as well change to a true maroon).
Port, drop the teal and just give us light blue.
Eagles, instead of yellow, white and dark blue, just use medium yellow and medium blue.![]()
Do we really need to go through this again?St.Kilda need to re-brand as "The Southern Saints" or "Bayside Saints" and dump St.Kilda. It's meaningless to them now that a return to the Junction Oval has been quashed. They have a great mascot and a great strip, no need to change colours or guernsey's, but if they do indeed return to Moorabbin then take all of Southern Melbourne with them and build on it! Plans are already in place for an $11 million upgrade of Moorabbin as a community facility and home of football in Melbourne’s south-east.
March 11th 2015 : City of Kingston Mayor Geoff Gledhill said St Kilda had held brief talks with the council about whether it would support a decision of the club to return to Linton St.
Gledhill said Kingston would “welcome the Saints back” should they make that call.
He said the council had not yet had talks with either the AFL or the state government about the situation.
But he said any such move would not be to the detriment of the $11m upgrade of the oval as a community facility and home for football in Melbourne’s south east.
But it's still shows its gold and it's a lot better then this eyesoreView attachment 124334
Should someone who follows Power really be having a go at other teams mascots/branding?As the title suggests, I think some teams could change their image/name/mascot/brand etc.

'Power' is the only nickname that is comfortably worse than ours.
Really camry.Having a bland empty name like the Giants is worse than having a crap name
'Giants' is the ultimate fail and may even lead to the downfall of that club
Quite a ridiculous restriction actually. Not sure people would confuse the Perth Demons wearing black and red with the Perth Eagles wearing blue and yellow and playing in a different league. Especially considering so many American teams share a location (eg LA Clippers/LA Lakers)

Hey, that was one threadPiss off mate
Our colours are brown and gold. We've worn those colours for 100 years.
We don't care if other people don't like our colours. They're OURS.
You wanna talk about "rebranding"?
How about you look in your own backyard and do something about that ridiculous "Power" nickname, logo and crappy song
![]()
A grey fist holding a white lightning bolt? WTF????
I never understood why Port chose the nickname "Power" over the "Sharks"
Anyway, there is a whole board dedicated to this shit where Big Footy's budding fashion designers gather to discuss fashions and colour combinations and share make-up tips

Any thoughts of St Kilda renaming itself should be terminated with extreme prejudice.

it is a little silly that we have three 'West' teams in the league and no other direction names, but not a fan generally of changing names.
edit: doh, forgot North Melbourne.
