Well, I guess we’ll never know.

What we do know is that those 3 blokes finished their careers elsewhere having been excited from the club at the same time. Now, I’m not saying that means the club made the right decision, but I am saying it’s clear what the club thought of them - for right or for wrong

They put themselves ahead of the team. Currying favour with the media for whatever motivation they had

When management is bad and destructive, and none of us can seriously argue that for Birdman (and almost no one will defend Chapman either), someone has to have the guts to do something.

They tried fixing it quietly and the club backed in Birdman and CM.

A team isn’t made strong or successful by suffering under bad leaders. It is made resentful, bitter and demotivated. Good people leave. Toadies and stooges proliferate and get promoted. Things get worse. You fancy yourself a realist, surely you understand this?

Oh come on .. no one ever made a big deal out of it, they approached him to discuss what they felt were problems with CM and the fall out of the camp

Clearly they fell into line afterwards. I don't remember them sh*t stirring about it immediately afterwards, at least in the media

At the time the club was still busy trying to bury it all under the rug

Jenkins and Betts' wife were the primary sources for the media leaks.

Discussing an incident that mostly amounted to someone offending Jenkins and Betts.

Backing in the camp and birdman was, yes

Burton was a rubbish administrator.

But there's mediocre staff at every club in the AFL. It's good he was replaced, but he wasn't doing the kind of damage that running a secret smear campaign to the media did.

We forget the crazy untrue things that were being spread at the time.

Jenkins was at it non stop prior to any camp. I think the incident was just convenient timing.

we're definitely short 1 cat b rookie. Keane is another who was added as a supernumerary due to mcasey being on the inactive list. Not sure the third.

If you don't count McAsey & Seedsman who we replaced, we are effectively down a category B rookie compared to last year.
