As our 2007 campaign has ended clearly...
who do you think terry wallace will delist?

I made a 'maybe' list of players

Trent knobel-too injury prone...patto rising and perhaps kruezer in our 22?

Ray Hall- hasnt shown enough skill and poise to keep a spot in the defence, although he does have good height with him.

Andy Krakouer- hes become slow, just dont see the need for him, rarely kicks enough goals, perhaps his time has ended

any players i missed out, perhaps a few rookies? or kent kingsley?

your thoughts please

i think we would keep knobel just for the fact we are short ruckman but that is all depending on how his body is.
andy krakouer could be possibly traded but im sure they will look at him.
ray hall could possibly retire but im sure he is another that will be looked at
the other players i think could be gone r kel moore and hartigan.

Bye, bye.......

Gaspar (retirement)
Hall (retirement)
Moore
Knobel
Hyde
Krakouer
Hartigan
Kingsley
Schulz (trade bait)
Meyer (trade bait)

Doubt any of those without (brackets) will likely command much or anything at all on the open market.
That lot would allow King to come on to the senior list (it's going to happen), possibly Howat and give us six picks in the draft. You don't want any more than six draft picks...no use adding more than six 17 year olds to an already young list!

Agree with all there except possibly Hyde who I'd be willing to keep unless someone offers up something for trade as I think he is a good half forward and can take spells on the ball. The interesting one is Hartigan who I always thought had some ability (remember a year or two back had about 15 possies to 1/4 time then did a hammy). Problem with Hartigan though is we have too many similar type players in Newman, Raines and White and with conceivably Casserly coming in if he ever gets fit I can only really see 2 of these guys playing in the same side unless Raines or Newman develop the ability to play in the middle which there is no evidence of at the moment.

Don't see any reason to get rid of Hyde. I still think Terry may keep Schultz and Meyer on the list. Other players who may go are Bowden and Johnson

If we can't get anything decent for them then no point trading them. Would like to see how the both of them would perform with a bit of muscle and fitness under their belts. Both should start pre season now to catch up to the rest of the group.

madtiger i am assuming you are talking about patrick bowden?

for what's it worth i think patrick will stay as will hyde.
i would delist kingsley, meyer, hall and perhaps moore

i am sure with krakouer's pedigree we could trade him,not so sure anyone would want schultz.
hartigan is a big question mark.how long do you keep guys that are continually injured.trent knobel falls into this category too.
also there a few coburg guys with long term injuries.we shall see how high the club rates them in a few months time

lets not kid ourselves few rfc players have trade value well those who are chronic underachievers anyway.

players who have been in the system 3yrs or more who have no trade value are. p bowden. d gaspar retired. r hall retired. b hartigan. c hyde. k kingsley. t knobel. a krakouer. k moore. g tivendale.k johnson.
then you have those who you might if you get very lucky snare a third round pick at best for.d jackson because of age. d meyer because of where he was drafted. k pettifer being optimistic now. j schulz because hes tall and was a first round pick. could even throw in j bowden here mainly because of his age whos going to give up more for a soft 29yo.
after this lot theres mainly just youngsters left. a lot who imo are not worth more than a third round pick.

three senior players i have not mentioned are richo browny and cogs it would be interesting to see what you could get for them.richo imo would snare us a first rounder. not sure about browny. cogs imo before injury would have been a great bargaining tool not sure now. 2 knee recos and poor kicking skills.

imo the only players with any real trade value are some of our younger brigade.to get quality you have to trade quality what would tambling command in a trade. what about polo not quality his kicking is crap but he does have some worth. anyway just some food for thought.

My names Sully I'm new to this whole thing :)

I think Andy Krakour may attract some interest.

And i dnt think Hyde should be delisted he has showed some good signs and can kick vital goals.

Keep Hyde, andy K, Hartigan, Schulz and Meyer, these are good young support players, none of them are stars in their own right. Your stars should come from Deledio, Tambling, Hughes, Simmonds, and some early draft picks in the next 2 YEARS, the tigs are are about four to five years away from really threatening and that is a shame for the competition.

you can't be serious about Richo. I'd burn punt road down if you traded him and I don't even barrack for the tiggers!

i'd join ya! i would be dirty no matter how old he is/was. if he had 1 year to go and we traded him i still couldnt give a stuff.

also i'd like to see hide on the list next year. he still offers a bit to the team IMO. the rest on that list can piss right off!

This is how I think it will go...........

Retire: Gaspar
Delist: Moore, Knobel, Hall, Kingsley and one of Krak or Harts (let them fight it out for the final spot)
Elevate: King

To my calculations, with the elevation of King, this will leave us with 4 picks in the Draft and 1 to use in the PSD.

Trade bait would include Schulz, Meyer and co. I suppose, which could net us another pick in the draft.

Thoughts?

Yeah, i agree with delediototambling

meyer has not shown a thing at AFL level,
I read the Mcrae report on the tigers site every week to see how the lads are going in Coburg and Coburg reserves, Meyer only gets 10 touches a game is says he struggles a bit.

And for a guy that should be playing senior footy, shulz only kicks 1 or 2 goals in Coburg, so he is clearly in a bit of strife for his future.

Definite goneskis
Gaspar -retired
Hall - retired
Knobel - retired/dud
Kingsley - dud
Krakouer - dud

on thin ice
P.Bowden
Moore
Hartigan
Meyer(trade)
Schulz(trade)

Theres probably a few more like Hyde and Tivendale who im not a big fan of but you cant get rid of them all at once and theyve performed better than the above

I think you have pretty much summed it up well D2T
