Agreed, we are most certainly still in the conversation though.This. It's pretty much why I made this thread. Hawks have been by far the deepest list over the last few, but not any more I reckon. Maybe it's just because I haven't seen a lot of the ones coming though but IMO other lists are deeper now. Like West Coast, and I'm hoping North but were yet to see it so can't get too pumped up
We lose as much as anyone, you just don't notice it because our depth and cover has been so good over the years. this is why losing any one individual isn't as detrimental to the hawthorn system then it might be to other clubs. Hence losing Buddy then going 3 peat. Those saying Hawthorn are kidding themselves they hardly lose anyone to injury teams with injuries would have deeper lists hate to say it but teams like GWS and Collingwood are the teams with the deepest lists

but the blokes under them who where depth are now best 22. the loss is felt. its logical. There guys were best 22. You can't quite count them as depth.

Think mid 2014. We were rampaged with injuries(including our coach). You could see the drop off but we still managed to keep winning games. Those saying Hawthorn are kidding themselves they hardly lose anyone to injury teams with injuries would have deeper lists hate to say it but teams like GWS and Collingwood are the teams with the deepest lists
Probably not. However we do have a lot of good/very good players right across the board. We also have a lot of AFL standard players just waiting for thier chance in the 2s
Not being critical, maybe its a no names thing on my part, how many of the depth players will stand up when required, as distinct from getting a go/knocking on the door.
I acknowledge I felt the same way about the Eagles list this time last year.
Ok so Norths depth is,
MIDS, Trent Dumont, Farren Ray, Kayne Turner, Will Fordham, Ryan Clarke, Corey Wagner, Mountford
RUCKS, Daw, Pruess (obviously Norths weakest depth)
UTILITIES, Mason Wood, Brad Mckenzie, Vickers-Willis
General Defenders, Mullett, McDonald,
KP, Tippett, Neilsen, Durdin, McKay,
GENRAL FORWARDS, Garner, Black, Andersen, Nahas,
Wild card, Wells
Geelong.
Hate posting in threads saying look at my team but id be surprised if anyone has better depth than the giants.
If not depth then definitely the club that has the players with the most post season trading currency.
These are our depth players according to AFL staff writers.I have Kelly as best 22 but they didn't .I have shown where they were drafted. Not because that's still there value but better than providing a random opinion.
Depth players
2-Kelly,
4-Buntine,
4Pickett
5 Hoskin Elliot
6 Ahern,
7Hopper
7Marchbank
13Kennedy
16 Himmelberg
In 20s and tracking nicely are Stewart and Lobb.Wilson and Kennedy are also tracking nicely.Mckenna still a fair way off.

It's defiantly handy for the future, but as it stands most of them are still kids. Scary in a year or two though
defiantly .. ... roger that !!
Its a bit rich saying the draw was soft for us at this point of the season, when its widely acknowledged your entire season was built around a soft draw.More than one? Nah. VB, Grigg, Jaensch, Henderson, Atkins, Otten and Lyons have all shown themselves to be decent AFL players at stages. Otten the only one to not do so recently due to injury.
As for Port. Of those 7 the draw was pretty easy if you look at it; Essendon, Saints, GWS (who had tailed away late in the year), Gold Coast and a depleted Fremantle. Hawks the only decent win.
I thought I would take a somewhat objective view, applying Supercoach scores as the 'best' indicator. Results below, but now wonder if they are at all valuable.
3300pts per game, 44 players = 75.0 points as true "Average"
Adelaide 4 (Sloane, Jacobs, Thompson, Laird)
Brisbane 8 (Beams, Martin, Rockliff, Zorko, Hanley, Redden, Robinson, Christensen)
Carlton 9 (Murphy, Cripps, Simpson, Kreuzer, Carazzo, Bell, Docherty, Graham, Curnow)
Collingwood 8 (Pendelbury, Sidebottom, Adams, Swan, Crisp, Grundy, Williams, Langdon)
Essendon 4 (Goddard, Giles, Hocking, Merrett)
Fremantle 8 (Fyfe, Mundy, Sandilands, Neale, Smith, Hill, Barlow, BENNELL)
Geelong 13 (Blicavs, Selwood, Enright, Guthrie, Caddy, Mackie, Duncan, Vardy, Motlop, Bartel, Johnson, Taylor, DANGERFIELD)
Hawthorn 5 (Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis, Gunston, Shiels)
Melbourne 8 (Vince, McDonald, Gawn, Viney, Cross, White, Hogan)
North Melbourne 2 (Goldstein, Higgins)
Port Adelaide 10 (Gray, Hartlett, Boak, Ebert, Wines, Gray, Wingard, Westhoff, Pittard, Ryder)
Richmond 12 (Deledio, Martin, Ellis, Edwards, Miles, Thomas, Cotchin, Rance, Houli, Maric, Riewoldt, Grigg)
St Kilda 7 (Armitage, Montagna, Steven, Newnes, Roberton, Riewoldt, Billings)
Sydney 8 (Hannebery, Kennedy, Jack, Parker, Mitchell, McVeigh, Franklin, Tippett)
Bulldogs 9 (Dalhaus, Bontempelli, Macrae, Wallis, Picken, Boyd, Stevens, Murphy, Wood)
Eagles 5 (Priddis, Gaff, Naitanui, Shuey, Kennedy)
GC 6 (Ablett, Prestia, Swallow, Rischitelli, Kolodashnij, Lynch, Saad)
GWS 11 (Shaw, Ward, Shiel, Treloar, Mumford, Smith, Griffen, Townsend, Patfull, Coniglio, Greene)
Seeing that list, it would appear the less players >75 average, the better the team, with both Grand Finalists right at the bottom, whilst Richmond, Geelong, GWS, Port and Carlton are near the top.
Am I missing something? Just from top of my head Brent Harvey & Jobe Watson both averaged 75+ (Both in the 90's). But then include Vardy & Townsend (who is now at Tigers not GWS).
Could you elaborate on your list, because if it's strictly using 75 points as the 'average' marker and counting players who averaged above that in 2015, I think it's quite odd you've only named about 130 players?
Yeah not all at the same time....2014 lost Sam Mitchell, Josh Gibson, Brian Lake, Luke Hodge, Ben Stratton, Brad Sewell, Liam Shiels, Jack Gunston just to name a few and still win the flag... Indicates a little bit of depth
