Prediction Do you think we make finals?

You can make a strong case for us to make it but it's always harder when you have to pick a top 8. The Sydney win today keeps them alive The Showdown is huge for both clubs.

In no particular I think the below six clubs will all get at least 14 wins.
Brisbane
Gold Coast
Hawthorn
Geelong
Collingwood
Bulldogs

Fairly obvious but I don't see a way the below 5 clubs can get enough wins
West Coast
Richmond
Essendon
Kangaroos
Melbourne

That leaves seven teams fighting for two spots:

GWS - Not playing well but have a lot of talent.

Sydney - slow start but have an easier month ahead. Should win the next t$hree and then play us.

Freo - Were awful on Friday night but I don't think it's beyond the relms of possibility they get enough home wins and sneak a few away getting the lower teams.

Adelaide.-.50/50

Port - Unlikely but they are a huge momentum team and can.win blocks of games..A bit like Freo I wouldn't put a line through them just yet getting into 8th. Lose the Showdown and they could move to the lower category.

St Kilda - I don't think they will.make it but currently still a.chance

Carlton - Were terrible yesterday but still in contention but unlikely. .A bit like Port a loss this week and they might drop to the lower group.

So you're really saying it's us, GWS and Sydney fighting for the last 2 spots.

I think we are better than that, but it points to us needing to beat Sydney.

It was easily the most disappointing result of the season, given that the other losses have been a close one away and a home loss against a good team where we had a big lead in the first half and faded off a short break. Against Freo we were just very poor throughout.

Redeeming feature is that all of our wins have been pretty comfortable. Lots of tough games over the next six weeks which will define the season - every team is solid with plenty of good players except West Coast. Confident we will make finals personally from around 8-6 at the bye.

Given its preseason, I thought as an exercise I would go ahead and try and predict which games in the H&A season we may win. Interestingly I arrived at 13W for 2025 which included 4 losses at AO, the line given by the bookies is 12.5W. While 13W was enough to make the 8 in 2024, it should be...

In terms of tipping my guess is W, L, W, W, L, L, with us beating Sydney. But could see a range of possibilities.

I think this week, Sydney at the SCG and the home game against Brisbane are all pretty close to 50/50 and we'll win 1-2 of them. The away games against Collingwood and Hawthorn I'd say are unlikely, but the MCG game is definitely possible. Would be pretty surprised if we beat Hawthorn. Overall I think we'll probably win 2 of those 5, and will beat West Coast comfortably.

What don't you understand? We smashed those teams so didn't just scrap a win against them and the away loss to 4th (GCS )was only by a point when we absolutely reamed by the umpire, Geelong is much better than 7th and we lead them by 5 goals at half time.
