Not saying this is season defining game or anything, but finals teams go on the road a pick up games like Freo away. If we want to separate from the mid pack looking in, then beating the other mid pack teams needs to happen more often then it doesn't.

Last year is the only time I remember this happening in recent times. We beat them easily at home in '23, and '22 was a great contest that ebbed and flowed where we lost by a point. I don't count 2020.

We all saw tonight as evidence that the season is cactus.

All of our away games sans maybe North and West Coast will be losses (I wouldn't back us to beat Richmond) and I doubt we'll be good enough to beat Brisbane, Collingwood and Hawthorn at home either. We'll probably drop a Showdown too.

That will leave us on 11 or 12 wins which won't be enough.
