Love to say yes, but I reckon we will finish between 9-12 which will be an improvement but failing to make it. A step in the right direction but need a clean run of injuries and better defence

We lose this week and you can stick a fork in this season and Nicks. And to be honest it would be pretty piss week if we lose again at home considering how we started the season albeit against fairly average sides.

Watched the Geelong - Hawks game yesterday

There's no way we could play with the same intensity of those 2 sides.....

If we do make the finals, dont think we'll go any deeper than the first week.

Just re-did my ladder predictor primarily upgrading Cats and Port a bit and downgrading Saints, Dins and Freo a bit. Also changed what I think are close games to draws. No sides missing out on 14 wins now.

Port seem to always save their season. they were dead and buried at 1-3. will they ever truly slide and suffer like we did 2019-2024? argh!

Dealing entirely in guesswork here, but personally I think the Gold Coast game was of a similar intensity. Smaller crowd, but a finals-type level of pressure and plenty of skill on display. Don't think we are far off the level.

I wouldn’t get too despondent, after this week they get to play only West Coast and Melbourne only once (both home so meh). They don’t play either Essendon or Saints again and play flakey Gold Coast here in the last round.

Rozee on the half back line robs them from the midfield. Do you reckon the Swans would have lost with Gulden, Papley and Mills in the side? And I’m not even taking into consideration Logan McDonald or Joel Amartey.

Swans are Port’s bitches for some reason.

And this week’s game is massive in terms of our season. Another away game against an opponent will play only once and who will be fighting like us to make the 8. We win with away games to come against Richmond, West Coast and North (which based on current form we would be favourites) means you could be effectively with an away record of 5-5.

Essendon win looking less. Reckon we're on track to finish 6-13, it's a competitive group, nothing has changed since preseason.
Long time to play it yet but looks more than ever like that really large middle section of the ladder is full of teams who could beat anyone else in that group on their day. Could end up like last year where teams are falling over themselves to miss finals and the ones that make it are the ones that, more so than winning games they shouldn't, just don't drop games they shouldn't. Seemed like no one wanted to finish 7th or 8th last year for a while.

I must admit, I was heavily optimistic after the first few games but after seeing how every side we beat seems to be struggling, I am just not convinced we have what it takes. I dont think Nicks has that gear. We need 13 wins just to make the 8 14 to be definite, thats a 10 - 7 win loss record from here. Definitely doable but do we have it in us?

Amazing that had Rankine received a free and goaled we'd be 5-1 yet the mood in here has come down somewhat.

EDIT: Quite rightly I might add. GWS is the only quality team we've beaten and would have lost had they kicked straight.
I think your bolded statement is a little strange.
We never looked like losing and played much better than them.

We missed just as many (normally) easy shots as they did. We would have won by a lot more if we had kicked straight.
