I agree 100% with the regression and yes it's not a bottom 4 list. But I think the over reaction from the start of last season and the pump up from the media the blues got before this season hasn't helped one little bit.

I think Voss can turn it around. Maybe some of those senior players need to be moved on.

It should probably also be noted that the competition is quite even and it only takes a few things to go wrong or right to change you from 5th to 15th one year to the next.

That I guess is an argument pro vossy, that sometimes for a variety of reasons, a side just goes through a rut, and when they essentially aren’t too much better or worse than 10 other sides, it can snowball pretty quick.

Ha, cheers mate. What can you do it is what it is, ya gotta laugh or else you'd cry.

Definitely no interest in the ra ra my club has won more flags type stuff, shits me to tears.
Don't get too friendly with them mate.

I think their list is fine, one of the better ones actually. The problem is that a lot of their good players are under performing and not many of the younger guys haven't improved much if at all.

I'd be backing him in next year.

If they keep the coach, maybe they need to trade one of their best players to shake things up. People always reference Richmond keeping Hardwick in these examples but we did trade Deledio who was probably our best player and for the previous years and one of our leaders. Now he wanted to leave, but you can't just keep everything the same and expect it to change.

I'm not so sure. They probably have a better core than we did before we traded in Nankervis, Caddy and Prestia.

Mcgovern will probably leave. They'll lose De Koning who will probably get them a similar return to Deledio.

De Koning and McGovern leaving won't change the culture.

What are they mate?

Was part of the 2017 preseason camp and largely credited to the shifting of culture at the club. Brendon Ellis' story being the most famous -

Massive respect mate. Every campaigner is just piling into your club here and your replying rationally and calmly. Most would of cracked the shits and started picking faults in the posters club by now. Kudos
I do admit my posts probably come as a pile on. But there is a few reasonable blues fans getting about.

My frustration towards Carlton is that I feel their list isn't as good as what's talked up in the media. They received a massive pump up pre season like they were flag favs. That helps no one. Especially when the chips are down. They certainly have players that can turn the tide if their form corrects.

Nah all good mate i wasn't aiming at anyone. Just showing respect for a bloke replying to opposition posters in a measured way which is rare on here. :tearsofjoy:

Carlton on the slide? Sliding from where?

My point is, Voss possibly overachieved last year with Carlton's list, and yes they're in a rut right now, and everyone is calling for his head as yet another quick fix?
A slide is a slide, in this case heading for the bottom 4 this year and possibly next under Voss. Problem for Voss is he was brought in as the coach 'without training wheels', finals here we come mentality. All and sundry associated with the club had high hopes, further inflated by last year's first half of the season. Injuries, lack of defensive structures and composure saw them miss last year. Most commentators had Carlton making the 8 this year (kudos to Buckley who was doubtful).

There's a fitter list this year however results and performances have been 'somewhat lacklustre'. He may avoid the sack this year if there are better performances and a few wins between now and September. Form can turn around quickly and while one lives in hope, it's hard to see too many more wins for the year.

You're surprised people are holding him responsible for the team's results?
You don't know Carlton.

So given the season has largely got away from them, surely now is when you make a stand.

Results largely meaningless, play the players who will put in. Drop the campaigners, regardless of who they are.

Would be nice, can't see it happening though (if McGovern didn't get dropped after the Collingwood game I don't see why he ever would be :drunk:)

Which is another culture issue in itself imo. Compare it to Port's approach the other week in leaving their captain in the 2s, chalk and cheese.

You're not just a pretty face old mate.
