Ned Guy? Seriously?

WTAF would the ex-Collingwood list manager who blew their cap, know about building a list when you ain't a big 4 Melbourne club.

Didn't he sign Wells, Mayne, Dunn, Beams and so on to long term deals in the one off season?

Ned Guy with the x2 first name multiplier. Doesn’t he also work on the tribunal for the AFL when clubs contest one of Michael Christians ( coincidentally also x2 first name multiplier) dubious decisions . Pies have all the bases covered

So the previous list manager of a competing club and his ‘team’ gets a voice on assistance, if any.

This following on from our last ‘package’ decided on by a bloke balls deep in accepting the head coaching job of a rival club.

It’s a circus.

Flip side Laura Kane is in command and we gave her every opportunity to get where she has.

Here’s all it needs to say:

We’ve sucked worse than GC.

Give us what you gave them.

The end.

Nah IGA access to Sanders is enough. Trade 2 and 16 to the Eagle.

Walk away with Reid, McKercher, Sanders or Curtin, McKercher & Sanders and trade 16 for Gawd knows what.

Oh fyi the Hawks are big into Dinkers fwiw not Duursma

The pressure is on the AFL to get this right.

If they give us rubbish assistance and it leads to little improvement in 24.

Then the risk is, we will be going back to the AFL for more assistance again next year.

Now I am biased. But I would just give North the help they need, so they have no excuses to come back next year asking for more help.

Plus it will leave the door open to help WCE, if they genuinely need it and ask for it.

James Gallagher is primed for big things though.
No pushover.

Id be quietly confident he will get things done and we will be okay.

FWIW this time last year we had Amarfio with both feet out the door phoning in our submission to Brad who was balls deep into getting the gig at Tulla.

Fingers crossed this is different but our bloke is a good operator.

We've been in discussions with the AFL for some time.

I think the point is to come to an agreement about what they will accept, and then submit that formally so the Commission just ticks it off.

Oh so typical of the AFL.

An engineered outcome through use of their discretionary powers.

Think we need to push for what we need to be long term competitive.

Extended list spots to remain for 2 further years.

Ability to PRE list 2 indigenous players from our academy.

Sanders and Shoemaker listed as academy players.

Soft cap extension to add an additional development coach and indigenous support and development coach.

A F2 and F3 which must be ontraded again, basically enough to hand to WC with pick 2 for pick 1, to basically help both clubs.

This is the type of package that could help, an ability to match a bid just isn't really anything of significance to us.

All spot on except forget the academy picks. Sanders yes, the rest aren't in our NGA.

Caveats on our assistance? Again?

FRO.

After all this talk, speculation, will we / won't we get anything, other clubs throwing in their 2 bobs worth, bottom line is that if we get nothing or watered down compo (eg having to bid for Sanders, more 3rd rounders, etc) you may as well close the book on PP assistance.
Until Tassie comes and gets the circus Gold Coast has gotten
