The easy thing to do is wash our hands of a tough situation by not recruiting "flight risks" (unsure about that term, makes them sound like they are applying for bail). If we're using go-home factor as a filter then we are limiting ourselves as a club and a desirable place to work. We have toiled hard on our multi-cultural and gender issues - still are I hope. It strikes me that part of the evolution of our club as an integral part of society is that we seek change and support those who struggle away from the places they recognize and feel attached to. We have the opportunity to become a positive influence in this important, on-going work. We won't always get it right but 'too hard' doesn't strike me as much of a mission statement.
