I actually am not surprised Laverde is drifting and I wanted him. I have a feeling he struggles with work rate and committment.

Obviously just my opinion

Those are 2 reasons I could think for him Falling that Far

Laverde 17th? I am really confused. At this rate we could pick him up at pick 30.

Yeh its amazing how certain players hav slipped so much in the space of a few days

My dream draft now

5- De Goey (seems certain for us)
30- Langford ( slipped from a possible 5 to 23, one more day and he could slip to 30, who knows
48- Boekhorst
75- Mckenna

I did say my DREAM draft

I think having all the People in same place makes it easy.

Yeah - De Goey looks like we are almost Certain to PIck him

As I said no way we'd be needing to use pick 48 on him.

Rookie selection at best and if the scum take him in the national draft no big deal.

Rather take a chance with Shane Yarran in the rookie draft tbh.

Posted in the wrong thread but asked the question regarding De Goey in what people see in him to be top 5 let alone top 10. His 3 min highlights package leaves me a little underwhelmed. LOL

I think he uses the ball quite well. Seems to hit his targets very well. Loves a Goal and Has both Inside and Outside Game

I hope so, just not getting any movement from me tbh regarding De Goey.

Can someone tell me what Blakely's outside game is like?

Blakely is capable outside. Good skillset. Not a damaging outside type as a guy with only average pace. But he can find it outside and has played outside in the past so that side of his game is better than most inside types at this stage with most juniors only only inside or only outside.

At last years draft, Buckley couldn't contain his excitement about Langdon. Told me they couldn't believe that he slipped though the draft. I was lucky to have a good 10+ min chat to him as soon as it finished.

Got my tickets again this year and hoping to get some good info off him again.

If anyone has any questions they'd like me to ask him or Dekka, fire away... Fingers crossed I get into the inner sanctum again :)

The obligatory question would be why he overlooked R.McKenzie and what held them back from picking him. Same story with Blakely if we overlook him at 30.

The Herald Sun is reporting that the Demons are "considering overlooking Christian Petracca in favour of 203cm forward Peter Wright."

"Melbourne is expected to decide on Thursday morning on whether it needs another tall goalkicker to partner Jesse Hogan instead of Petracca’s X-factor.

If true. Gws pls take pickket.

I'll answer the same question with the same response - see next response.

So apparently McCartin is a sure thing with pick 1, and APPARENTLY Melbourne are likely to take Wright and Brayshaw (I know it's only a Facebook rumour, but still).

Would GWS pass on Petracca of he's there at 4?

You might want to see this article: http://www.3aw.com.au/blogs/3aw-sport-blog/mccartin-petracca-brayshaw-top-3/20141126-3l97j.html

It looks like Petracca to Melbourne.

But even failing as a hypothetical if GWS had the choice of Petracca or Pickett they're taking Petracca who is probably I imagine at the top of their draft board. Then just clean up Pickett with the next pick with no strong rumours that Collingwood want Pickett.

If true I'd rather de goey over Pickett! Pickett will head home in 2 years

Pickett is happy anywhere.

Of the players available to us he is the safest bet, u know what u will get with him.
I'm sick of safe bets, FFS take a chance on some potential and bring us some excitement. We have enough run of the mill type players IMO!

Hey i want Langford, but u cant always get what u want.
De Goey is a good player, but doesnt hav star potential in my opinion.
Time will tell.

I think De Goey could become a Very Good Goal Kicking Mid. That does not do many Flashy things.

Bit like Beams was

WCE are said to like Laverde at 11. Same story with Adelaide at 14. Hard to see him sliding that far, but funnier things have happened.

There has been some linking Saad to Collingwood with our last pick. Will be interesting if we take him. I'm not keen personally but I get it given his pace and reliable set shot goalkicking - even if he doesn't get a whole lot of opportunities perhaps on a better team he gets more of it.

De Goey is highly regarded because he is a midfielder who is capable forward of centre as a genuine marking target in the front half. He has a good blend of inside/outside game with the contested side of his game improving this year. Good skillset. Tall midfielder.
Perhaps not as well performed as a number of his peers. But the mix of talents overall is appealing. I wouldn't say pick 5 appealing, but the recent rumour mill suggests Collingwood will be calling out his name tomorrow.

I also favour Langford to De Goey and agree that Langford has a bit more star quality. Langford being a late grower and such an athletic mover for a tall and so dominant overhead and with his scoreboard impact I also favour.

Langford does have Big Upside Potential but has also has a Possible Bust as well. If his Body/Skills come on as Expected

He is going to be one of those players where u look at the stats after the game and see he has had 20 disposals with a couple of goals and u didnt realise he had that good a game. Not flashy but does everything right

That does sound a like the Type he will be. Though being a High Draft Picks he would get bit more closely watched.

He have mostly good-great games and not many bad games
