I thought that the gig at AAMI Park was gonna be licensed, however to my great horror on checking their website found it to be alcohol-free. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a hard-core juicer but my nerves will be shot without a li'l alcohol assisted anxiolitic.

Is this in fact the case, and if so, where are other ticketless wonders watching the big'un?

Technically AAMI Park is going to be a "dry" venue this week, but there is a bar called "the bench" which is right on the side of AAMI Park, and it will be in full operation.

Or you could just try the old "2 Litre Coke Bottle" with some "special" additives.

I can confirm that. I'm also a Storm member and was sent an email yesterday saying the Bench will be serving alcohol and food but will be a dry area inside the actual stadium. As mentioned they did say earlier in the week bars will be open inside so i'm not sure who pulled the plug on that one.

Methinks James "nanny state" Merlino

The bench better not run out of beer

Has anybody been to The Bench. Will it be big enough to cater for the expected crowd?

Not a chance it'll be big enough i wouldn't think. Of course it'll depend on how many want to go in for a sip but considering they're expecting a full house inside the ground i don't think it'll be big enough to cater for the ones who want to drink.

Anyone is more than welcome at my place for the game, but it's in Bendigo haha! I'm going to be shlacked by around bounce time but not enough that I'll miss any of the action.

I like the cut of your jib CLUBMEDhurst. Dry arguement, quality verse right there.
