How risky is tttoooo risky? :eek:High-risk, potentially high-reward is what I'm after.
Injury returns, kids, potential keepers.

BACKS:
Goddard, C.Cornes, McLeod, Adcock, Malceski, R.Houlihan, Raines || Hill, Broughton

MIDS: Boak, C.Morton, D.Jackson, S.O'Bree, C.Masten, Hasleby || Rich, Robinson

RUCKS: Cox, Fraser || Pyke, Spencer

FWDS: Giansiracusa, J.Brown, L.Davis, B.Hall, S.Higgins, Skipworth, Hentschel || Garlett, Ziebell

Am I nuts to have Hall?
Will Jackson get TOG?
Will Malceski have a knee in round 2?
Am I crazy?

If you are after high risk, high return, why is there no Drummond in your backline?

304K is a steal if he fires!

Your midfield is shocking!

ok my team
backs:S.Fisher, B. Goddard, C.Enright, C.Cornes, M.Clarke, R.Houlihan, A Raines (Suban, Broughtan)
mids: K.Cornes, J.Selwood, S.Pendlebury, D.Kerr, P.Hasleby, J.Ziebell (D.Beams, T.Swift)
rucks: B.Ottens, H.Macintosh (Browne, Jacobs)
forwards: Richo, Delids, J.Brown, Roughead, Higgins, Skipworth, Hentschel (Brown, Walker)

thoughts on team?

Hopefully final team

Backs: Goddard, Cornes, P Burgoyne, Adcock, Houlihan, Raines, Hill (Petrenko, Broughton)
Mids: Swan, Kornes, Selwood, Wells, Haselby, Rich (Robinson, Anthony)
Rucks: Cox, McIntosh (Jacobs, Spencer)
Fwds: Franklin, Delidio, Didak, Goodwin, Higgins, Skipworth, Walker (Brown, Hogan)

Couple of qs:
-Should I downgrade Haselby to Butler (both risky IMO so why not make cash here)
-P Burger or H Shaw or Enright?
-Starting 3 rookies too many?
-Wells a good pick or Kade Simpson/Knights better?

How to upgrade Jackson?

If you are after high risk, high return, why is there no Drummond in your backline?

Good point, but his yoyo scores drive me so nuts I might, in a fit of mid-season insanity, be tempted to consider Presti!

My other high-risk, potentially-high-reward player to miss out is Lucas. He looked to have been sedated and lobotomized in the Nab.

@ Warney7, too right. As example, Jackson's potentially low TOG worries me, despite his sweet scores in the NAB. He may grow this season but it's a worry that he's my #3 mid.

The question is, how do I upgrade him? To whom do I give the arse?

Should I downgrade a gun for cash? I don't really have many guns.
Or downgrade a mid-pricer like O'Bree or Davis to a starting rookie and use the cash to upgrade Jackson?

less than 24hrs, my current squad (subject to change :D)

B - Goddard, Scotland, Cornes, Lockyer, McPhee, Houlihan, Raines, [Hill, Broughton]

R - Simmonds, Kreuzer, [Graham, Pyke]
F - Pavlich, Deledio, Harvey, O'Keefe, Lucas, Higgins, Sidebottom, [Thompson, Hogan]

a bit iffy on my bench players, but if i act quick tomorrow i'll find the right mix.

i'm going with Coughlan.

Hmm a few injury prone players there.

What about McPhee out for Adcock and Lucas for Skippy or N Krakouer

I'd go Tenace or Butler over Cogs

look its a basic one and just need some opinions

im looking at having zeibell, krakouer as last 2 fwds with hentchel and brown as emer

is it stupid to have 3 high priced rookies in my fwd line ?

that looks fine to me.

Laidley gave a very reserved answer in response to Ziebell on radio the other day. he'll be in the 25, i doubt he'll play rd1.

you'd better be sure about Mitch Brown getting a regular game too.

So you thinking Enright is the way? What about Haselby to Butler

Hmmm Wells could be the X-Factor this year! I'll stick with him

keep Hasleby.
if he turns out to be this year's version of Stevens you'll regret it forever !!
Enright has been quality over the last 2 seasons.

Backs:
S.Fisher, B.Goddard, H.Shaw, J.Adcock, R.Houlihan, A.Raines, S.Hill.

N.Suban, A.Rance

Midfielders:
J.Bartel, G.Ablett, D.Cross, C.Judd, B.Cousins, D.Rich

D.Beams, M.Robinson

Rucks:
D.Cox, M.Kreuzer

D.Currie, A.Browne

Forwards:
B.Deledio, D.Giansiracusa, C.Syvia, S.Lucas, S.Higgins, H.Skipworth, J.Ziebell

M.Brown, B.Dick

My league runs a separate comp on highest overall score which begins from round 1 which is why I've put in the overpriced Bartel and Ablett. I'm counting on others waiting for them to drop in price, giving me the chance to score some points early on and break ahead somewhat. I'm slightly heavy in my midfield, but that's how I play it every year. Little uncertain about my forward line and some of my rookie choices, plus some of my usual staples have been omitted from my team this year.

$166,800 left over.

I'm considering bring Hentschell back in at the expense of Garlett as well, and just hanging on to the savings.

I'm also considering trading Pavlich for Brett Delidio. Pavlich is reliable, but if he has an average game in Round 1, his price could go down right away. Delidio's upside rightfully has everyone pretty excited, so it's a had choice.

I was even considering downgrading Hodge to Birchall (and having some mega cash left over, or upgrading one of my Forwards), because I might lose money on Hodge immediately if he ends up having an average game in Round 1 (which is a possibility, if the Cats are smart and watch him much more closely than the GF). However, if I kept him, I'd think Hodge would be amongst my keepers for the season, and despite his consistency, Bichall would probably be worth upgrading at some stage.

I'm not massively sold on Cornes, but there aren't too many other options in defence right now, as most IMO are either overpriced (Bowden), injured/iffy with injury (Carrazzo, Wheatley, Scotland), not consistent enough (Mackie), or might have too much defensive responsibility early (Enright)

In my current set-up, my keepers (those who I'd still want there at season's end) would probably be:
- Hodge
- Cornes
- Fisher
- Corey
- Cross
- Boyd
- Cox
- Pavlich
- Harvey
- Giansiracusa

Nearly all of those are very durable and very consistent. The only ones I have doubts for are Hodge, Cornes and Cox. Not so much on the consistency side, but just on injury. Hodge and Cornes may end up missing 1 or 2 along the way (as they seem to do), and Cox (despite his toughness) may even succumb at some point as well. If that happens though, I think I'm in better stead and much more knowledgeable than I have been in the past in being able to manage and work around injuries in Dream Team.

I'll probably keep on tinkering until just before lockout :p

Anyway, feedback on this current mix?

b - ccornes,s.stevens,lockyer,houlihan,raines,callan,hill (rance/pentro)

m - bartel,n.jones,cross,dalziell,t.tuck,rich (anthony/beams)

r - cox/macintosh (jacobs/spencer)

f - pav,deledio,didak,n.brown,higgins,skippy,hentchel (m.brown/t.walker)

You definitely need more keepers. You will struggle to bring in alot of the guns with 12 upgrade targets in your wing
