As with all purely outside players, he can't get involved when he's not getting fed the ball. That's just the nature of their role. However, with a strong inside set-up feeding him, Aaron Davey would be exactly what we need. Alwyn is nowhere near as good a kick, he's just pace and tackling ability really, and is fairly overrated, but Aaron is quality.

Look, we've already got McVeigh, who may have found his best position off halfback, which is where we'd stick probably Davey, and, as difficult as it might be for many to read, I rate McVeigh far higher than Davey, who's also older.

Davey's typical of what's been wrong for so long at Melbourne. Erratic in an ordinary side, no leadership, no physical presence and even got lucky on the weekend throwing a stray elbow that missed.

I'm thinking Clark will either go to Fremantle or Greater Western Sydney. I think he is gone, since he wanted out last year, but couldn't strike a deal with Fremantle.

Also, a rumour posted on another board that Sam Mitchell maybe the big fish that GWS Giants have signed. Apparently it was on SEN. Would be a huge get for the Giants, but not sure how accurate that rumour is. I just can't see Mitchell leaving the Hawks though.

I'm not sure if I would like Clark he can come across a very lazy player at times and has a lot of games where he offers nothing. But I guess he has also played a few good games too.

Brendan Fevola?

Does anyone think that drafting/signing Brendan Fevola if he's interested would we a good idea? Or is it to much of a risk?

This year the lack of a true key forward has cost us games in a year in which most Swans fans would agree that we have underperformed. I think it would be great to have him at the Swans given our success of recycling players and it would give time for Reid and Johnston to develop.

Re: Brendan Fevola?

He's going to be 30 so how many years could we get out of him?

I really like him I'd happily support him at our club.

Re: Brendan Fevola?

Whoever gets him will get him next to nothing, its a no brainer Id take him in a flash, at the very least if he stuffed up he would draw a crowd in the Canberra league...

However he wants to play in Melbourne near his family. Good luck to him.

Also I think Ratten is a goose and knows the Carlton faithful would put Fev before him, thats why he is so strongly against him returning to Carlton.

Re: Brendan Fevola?

If he wanted to come, I'd take the punt. Like Bradshaw, would cost next to nothing, we have the cap space, and would take the attention off Reid and (if he's still there) White.

I think the club's solid enough that he wouldn't corrupt any of our players, and we wouldn't take any shit from him.

Re: Brendan Fevola?

I couldn't think of anything worse for the development of Sam Reid than having Brendan Fevola standing next to him.

Or Jesse.

Surely we're past this now. The reason the media grabs any chance to link Sydney to just about anyone is coz we have fans who talk up this kind of shite.

Fck me, NO!

Really? Its not gonna happen but he would take their number one defender and probably kick close to a hundred goals,it would free '19' yr old Sammy up until he has matured, its kind of a moot discussion though he wont leave Melbourne.
