Roxi r flying. They got up by a lazy 17 goals against codurg dist and they rested 6 of their best. Talk is they are hiding a couple of recruits and wont unveil them till they play paco. Big and strong and they fancy themselves for finals seeing as they got an easy draw

With all due respect to the club, I wouldnt be to estatic with a 17 goal win over Districts. They are a pretty ordinary outfit when up against any EDFL side.

Doutta's beat St Albans by around 8 goals or so..I don't actually remember the final score...

Carey was very good for DS and the ruckman (no. 3) played very well...Douttas moved it well through the middle and had lots of free players...

St Albans were ordinary...no. 51 was good for them....

everbody should not be knocking strathmore about there excellent recruiting but commending them. if there were another 4 or 5 teams doing the same thing then the edfl would then make the top 10 leagues outside the vfl in victoria. stop whinging and go out and match them.

I watched a little bit of the East Ringwood vs Strathmore game and was super impressed by East Ringwood. They moved the ball brilliantly and their skills were exquisite for a local side.

Strathmore struck me as a little top heavy but they were missing Holman and a couple of others. I don't know if Harvey played.

Also caught a little bit of Doutta Stars - they look pretty good. Definite top 4. Probably need to steal one of Strathmores talls to be a chance.

jacana played fish creek @ fish creek and it was a very good game for both sides. Scores were very close in the end.. maybe level. Not bad for Jacana, as Fish Creek were runners up last year.

a very even young team are jacana with a lot of run and players who can run out games and explosive off the mark.

also fish creek had bigger taller stronger bodies and the young guys wernt intimidated. good stuff jaca's.

So you want clubs to be run by the cheque book rather than reality! The "excellent" recruiting is the result of ego's that do not take into account the longer term future of the club, the league, or local football. Will you still congratulate Strathmore when the coach takes his wallet and runs, and all the "excellent" recruits leave as well?

Can't say was good game very scrappy. The game wasn't the star attration of the weekend more the happenings afterwards eh juzz.

who looked good for strathmore did the new ruckman play the one from the WAFL and any new names look good at douttas apparently couple of good small blokes, one they call Jimmy??

Strathmore are about a 15 goal better side than last year if we go on practice match form. They got smashed by E.Ringwood last year, Winter never got a kick and they couldn't kick goals at any price. So don't read too much into it. May have been a bit top heavy but Holman, Lindsay, Condon didn't play. Morrison, Maggorie and Oggy also.

Oak Park played some decent footy and will be a little better than most people think. Keilor had a couple guys out but not a great deal - they looked sluggish but had a fair few guys having their first hit out so I woudn't read too much into it.

Patto is definitely playing at Keilor but is out with slight injury at the moment - he reckons he could play but doesnt want to risk it this early in the year.

Strathmore had 7 out, also played seniors sparingly of the bench.

Not a bad effort really, East Ringwood along with Vermont considered the top two in the eastern districts league

Don't be fooled they will be the yardstick as they should be.

Firstly there would'nt be 4 or 5 clubs that could come up with that sort of money. Secondly if that did happen we would end up with an extremely one sided competition. Finally that is not the way to secure your clu'bs future, as Strathmore will realise when Hille departs.

Thats the reason your league is not in the top 10. look at the TOP 10 LEAGUES OUTSIDE OF THE VFL IN VICTORIA THREAD and all them leagues except vafa have atleast 4 or 5 sides paying out dollars like strathmore. If you want to be known as a very high standard football league thats what needs to be done. thats the direction that football has gone.
