Essendon vow enough is enough

They should just shut up and stop making statements. It's just more ammo for the media

It's not going to look good if they finish bottom 4 again.

Get the process right internally and keep everything as low-key as possible. Work towards the goal.
interesting you say that. Made me notice, a lot of the interviews are with Brad.
I wonder how much he is covering the players from distraction, etc.

Ive only seen a handful of stories with quotes from the leaders (Merrett and McGrath). seems to mostly be the coach.

I'll be honest I have not been paying attention and maybe it's overblown.

But the point is at this point the team is better off just focusing on the goal and keeping their mouths shut about how they are doing it.

The dons can make noise and shout, full of sound and fury signyfing nothing. They got brad scott, he can get the best out of the list, nothing more. The current list they got at best is 7th or 8th.

Dons make a statement on field

Dunno they've talked all preseason how they were are going to tighten up defensively this year.

We had 28 scoring shots whilst getting absolutely mauled in the middle. If we kicked true we would have pissed it in today.

We are likely a bottom 4 team this year.

Imagine what a good side is going to do to them.

Went along today because it was a beautiful day and didn't have anything on.

If a depleted Hawthorn can waltz out of the backline and into scoring position with ease like today, then what are top 12 teams going to do to them.

Enough ain't enough yet.

A poor ground defence / transition game yesterday. Positive though was the dominance in the centre and clearances. Perkins sets a new high watermark as the dominant centre men, will get the 3 votes. Perkins could be a superstar, he has lots of powerful attributes. Tsatas came on after half time and was among the better players on the ground in the second half in about his 6th game. Durham another promising game inside the middle further signs of the next layer of midfielders growing and developing. A really good sign given its best midfielder was missing. Tsatas, Durham, Perkins will be up and down but the highs are higher and the lows will be higher. The trend is up over time.

A strong debut by Mc Kay, what he brings Essendon is size and a stable hand. Stood out yesterday as something Essendon hasn’t had since Hooker / Hurley.

Moreover, as I said a few weeks ago here, the team lacked cohesion and chemistry and that was seen via lots of lapses in structure and team defence. 4 debutants yesterday, Durham, Martin and Perkins playing different roles means the connection and understanding will take sometime to bed down. That’s why 2024 is not likely to be the year they make, or more unlikely win a final. But the ingredients are there to make a good cake.

I agree but Bard has never finished top four in his career. Its not gonna happen with you guys either. Well it might but I don't think he has the mentality for it.
I thought north made top 4 in 2014? Or do you mean home and away positions?

No need to imagine, we saw it last year and more than likely we'll see it this week.

We're not letting them push us around for once which is really good to see. Wright set the tone from the beginning knocking his opponent out. Still very poor at defending transition which has been a problem under 3 coaches now, especially against a side who move the ball so quickly. Think it's going to cost us in the end
