Multiplat Fallout 3

I remember when they said it would be released in June, then July, then August..Now September.

I wonder what's taking them so long.
I didn't see them saying July or August. They said June first off but obviously just didn't port it in time or had unrealistic expectations.

As has been noted here and at MANY other places too the amount of bugs in both the main game and DLC were quite a lot so along with porting they were probably eradicating the bugs which would've taken longer.

Basically it is pretty much done now, just up to testing the DLC on its own and then how it goes with the other DLC.

There's a lot of DLC so it will take its fair share of time.

"So when can you expect Fallout 3 DLC? We are knee deep in testing at the moment, and we’re hoping to have the first DLC out by the end of September. That long? Keep in mind that not only do we need to test each DLC on PS3, we also need to test each DLC when used in conjunction with each of the other DLC, as well as all of them together, along with the entire original game."

Ok, I'll try waiting at the station.

Also, what's the quest 'Reily's Rangers' supposed to be like? I hear it's quite a pain in the crapper. I still don't know where Reily is.

That's not too hard you find her in underworld then rescue her team. In reward they give you some pretty good armour and you can use their base to sleep etc.

I know that Broken Steel continues the story after the main quest but does the game end after you finish the Broken Steel quests? Or can you continue free play and do whatever you want.

That was my exact thoughts in my first few hours of gameplay but give it time and you will begin to love it.

Yeah i was sort of 50/50 on it up until i escaped Vault 101. That's when Fallout 3 owns. :thumbsu:

Yeah same.

F3 was the first full blown RPG I'd put any significant time into.

An hour or two in I was bored stiff, but 60 hours later, easily one of the most amazing games I've played.

Just bought the 4 DLC packs, keen to give them a run

What's the go with DLC on the 360? How much is out, and yet to come? Is there a version of the game out with DLC on disc?

4 DLC Packs - Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel and Point Lookout

800 MS Points per pack

The GOTY Ed with the DLC included on disc is scheduled for October on 360, believe the Additional Content discs are available for PC edition already.

There is more DLC coming out next month. Then there is another DLC planned which is the last for Fallout3 which i don't think there is too many details on at the moment.

For those who have yet to buy the DLC for PC or XBOX 360, or those waiting for it on the PS3 and aren't going to buy any version of the GOTY edition. IGN have a guide to help you with maybe which DLC pack to buy over others.

FALLOUT 3 DLC BUYER'S GUIDE

DEFINITELY DOWNLOAD
Point Lookout
This add-on is the one that stays truest to the original Fallout 3 formula, and for that reason is one of the most satisfying purchases.

Grab Point Lookout if you like the exploration, cool side quests, and are in need of a new area to wander about in.

Broken Steel
There's really only one thing you need to know about Broken Steel. By buying this add-on, the level cap is lifted another 10 levels to 30.

Of course, we wouldn't recommend buying Broken Steel if all it offered was a lift in the level cap. This download also enables you to continue your game beyond the ending. Simply finish the game after installing Broken Steel and you'll find the game continues with this new storyline.

MAYBE TRY THIS

The Pitt
In the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 3, Pittsburgh's steel mills have turned into a slave camp where the strong pry on the meek. It's up to you to save them and find the source of a deadly disease running rampant. Along the way you'll find a few cool weapons, including the must-have Auto-Axe, and learn first-hand what it means to be slave labor.

If there hadn't been so many bugs with The Pitt, it'd easily be a full recommendation. Just go in knowing that you might experience a few anomalies.

FOR THE HARDCORE ONLY!
Operation Anchorage

This is the first add-on Bethesda released for Fallout 3, and it seems that the developers had yet to work out all of the kinks. This download adds a new quest line where you enter a virtual reality training simulation for the war with China in Alaska.

A problem with Operation Anchorage is that you can't revisit Alaska after you complete the set of missions without reloading an old save. Once you return from the virtual reality, it's over.

Mothership Zeta
The final add-on suffers from many of the same problems as the first. The idea and setting are fantastic, but like Operation Anchorage the follow-through just isn't there.

Straight combat and drudging through corridors is about all you have to look forward to here. Alien technology isn't enough to save this one from becoming a bit boring before it ends.

FALLOUT 3 PATCH AND DLC INFO
1.6.1 patch for the PlayStation 3 version of Fallout 3 has just been released, which probably means that Broken Steel will be released on the Sony platform soon. Stay tuned for more information.

Upon loading up the game, you are prompted to update the game and the download will begin. It is roughly 21MB.

Features:
  • Adds the trophies to the actual trophy menu so you no longer need to compare trophies to see them.
  • Another feature is the addition of the Downloads section under the main menu.

"Possibly within the next few weeks".

Wasn't it schedueled for July, August, then definetly September and now that it's half way through september we get "Possible in the next few weeks".

lulz.

Was said for a June release first. Then September was announced in July. Could still very well hit that.

As long as the GOTY Edition is out within the next month or two I'll be happy.:)
