I've found Dogmeat really good in battle. Still suffers from the Bethesda trademark 'companion standing in doorways' disease though

I swapped humor codsworth. He kicks ass.

My only beef with Doge is that when I'm sneaking around his footsteps sound like a radroach.

How far in did people start comfortably exploring? I tried just after establishing my settlement, so level 4 or 5 but kept running into skulls. Now up to level 6 and continuing with side missions to get a bit stronger. Currently just in Lexington beating up on bandits.

Most annoying thing is Rads from critters when Radaway is really scarce :(

Early on Flight 1981 and Graygarden were pretty much my boundaries. Anything out of that and I was dead.

If anyone was wondering, yes you can buy stuff from any stores you set up in your own settlements although the standard 'trader' doesn't seem to let me. Will have to suss out if it's any cheaper. You do get income from all your stalls based on your population too which is good.

Haha also in Lexington. There's loads of ghouls here.

Not sure if he has been mentioned, but I keep getting the same mission over and over again.
Have to recover something, which I've been to obviously and don't have to kill any enemies.
Takes me about 30 seconds to do it and I got 230xp and 100 caps each time.
I don't mean to complain but it seems like a bug.

I was scavenging around and kept getting a danger warning (I was sneaking because I went there to kill bandits so assumed they would be around) so started spamming VATS and saw a heap of ghouls in the middle. So I just made a circle way around and just went into the building for my quest :D then the wife got home so now I'm saved there itching to get back in.

Which mission?

Never really got into the building settlements thing but I could see how easily addicting it could be.

Level 18 now and it's still a bit difficult. Could be because of my decision to have my character wear nothing but their underwear and a sailors cap though.

Just romanced my first companion too.

How could you not dressed like that

Played 2 hours before having to go to dinner for my nan's birthday. Went to work early so I could get home sooner for this. Silly me, I ended up doing 6.30-5. Once I perk up after dinner and a shower I'll have another session.

Quickly made a new character and got back to the Santuary.

Spent the last hour or so cleaning the place up. Also made an 'armory' which is basically a big shed with a few gun stored and my (red) power arnour in the center. Made it look like a cool little showroom for my power armour by placing a heap of lights in there.

Wasted all my copper and a shitload of other resources but so worth it!

Spent at least 4 hours just cleaning up the sanctuary and playing around with the workbench mode. Built a little fort near the bridge. Cleaned out all the houses and all the fallen/broken trees etc. Took ages but my settlement is starting to take shape. Have set up some generators with water pumps and have a nice little area where the food is growing, have it all fenced off too. I also made myself a basketball court, just 2 rings each end. Next thing I want to build is a big armoury where I will store all the goodies.
