Now the structure of the walls is being annoying.
Trying to place the walls to create a shape but it wont let me but a wall in on the corner connecting with the other wall to make the corner.
It just sticks out the same side i put it on beyond the floor/level of the house so some of the house wouldn't have floor/concrete, and I don't know if that would even work.
Tried using the corner wall shapes and just the normal metal walls.
I'm making sure there is enough room and everything but its being a real pain and I am raging quite a bit.

Does your base (Sanctuary) ever actually get attacked?

Wondered the same thing so I just googled it and apparently they do but is apparently infrequent. I think that's a good thing because I do like it that the possibility is real but I don't want to be having to go back every 5 minutes due to an attack. So far have read people being attacked by bandits and supermutants. Not sure what else yet. The more I read the more it sounds that it is very uncommon for Sanctuary to be attacked and would be more than likely the other settlements.

I would like to be attacked though just so I can gauge how effective my settlers and their basic weaponry is and if my current defences are overkill or not. I want to start work on other settlements but I'm still pouring resources into Sanctuary unsure how much is enough.

Finally got my beds off the street though lol. Have a turret and guard post at the bridge and put a pre-fab two story wood and a guard tower next to the central building with the crafting stations, all lit up with flood lights. Nearly killed myself playing with traps but I think I'm going to drop back my turret and post and hook some traps up to a switch at the bridge. Traps with a turret should waste any group coming over the bridge. That's assuming you get to be present for attacks though. I don't trust my settlers capability to operate a switch, they slept outside in a radiation storm after all.

From what i can gather, if your defenses are good, bandits look for easier pickings.

Defense needs to be slightly more than water and food combined

Yeah it does. Sanctuary for me has been attacked twice by raiders. The drive in theatre where I have my big settlement is attacked pretty frequently by Supermutants, Milelurks and Raiders. Nothing the turrets don't fix easily enough but the settlers do try to fight.

Is it possible to scrap every building in my town? I can scrap some but not others for some reason.
You can't scrap the half decent houses, just the destroyed ones.

Just clean em out and use them

Literally never encountered this. Only thing i can think of is you are not using matched bits of wall etc.

Some bits don't work together

Just looked through my settlement stats and that seems to be a pretty good guide for the warning triangle on the workshop tab. I've had settlements under attack with adequate defence though so I'd say attacks and are less with a high enough defence rating but not impossible

So setting up settlements (multiple) is good for....? Just cos? Or does it help out somehow in the long run?

Look up supply lines. At the end of the day it makes crafting easier due to shared resources.

does the water around sanctuary act as a barrier? ie.. do they just attack from over the bridge?

my plan so far (assuming attacks will come over the bridge) is to have a Gate with 2 guard posts and turrets either side. I have also built my Fort like home on the block right next to it with an upstairs veranda with 2 more guard posts there. My house is Full metal so hopefully it cant be damaged if it gets attacked... if not it looks pretty boss at the very least
