and then you can cross it into the 8 foot monster forward if you're going along the wings.
 
Played my league cup final against Man U. Thought i would get smashed as I'm Notts county (1 & 1/2 star team).
First half was pretty even. Rooney got a goal late to make it 1-0 at half time. Start of the 2nd and Rooney scores staight away to make it 2-0 and i thought "here comes a romping" but not to long after i went down and scored through some nice passes to make it 2-1 at the 58th minute.
It's back and forth for abit untill Nani gets clear and scores to make it 3-1 at the 71st minute.
I still go about passing it around till about the 80th minute where i pegged another and the possiblity of tieing it up.
Scores at 3-2 I had all the run of play and missed a great chance to eqaulise, instead they go down and rooney gets his hat-trick.
Final score 4-2 but i thought it was decent to even score against them with my sh*t team:o

lol yeah i've had VDV do that a few times.. .Defoe too(when he plays. lol). I found Crouch getting himself into shit positions for my crosses. whereas Defoe. even though he's 5 foot nothing and VDV speed around and get the right position.

Alright just made my Virtual Pro.

Made him a forward (of course) and put him in Watford colours.

Now starting my career mode as Watford and I'm just wondering what the go is. Do you guys control your virtual pro player only? Cos I just tried that and I was running around like a headless chook barely having any influence, not knowing where to run etc... teammates were a bunch of spuds too.

Or do you guys control the whole side? Or are you guys in a career that doesn't involve your created player.

I'm new to this aspect of FIFA. Was always just a play against your mates kind of game in previous years.

Be a Pro (playing just with your created character/VP) mode is bugged and horrendous. I tried it, thought it'd be updated/improved from last year but its shocking. Team mates are dumb, don't pass, don't shoot, don't know how to play even idiots online are better. Play as everyone man, even on legendary the players are dopey in be a pro.
 
Apparently EA is creating a patch to address a few of the issues, and luckily for me, player growth in Career mode is on the agenda.

Let's hope they don't take too long to circulate it.
 
I'm all for the AI doing tricks and made sort of tougher to play against but at times it gets bloody ridiculous. I was playing against Chelsea last night on world class (which i found much tougher playing manual this time round) which is better this year than previous years but man it was crazy.
I couldn't get the ball anywhere near my goal whilst every pass and run they made was unstoppable.
Not to mention at goal kicks which really is starting to grate my cheese i do not like to boot the long because i can never win a battle in the air against the AI and retain possession so sometimes i like to pass it short and build up the play from defence but that has been near impossible now that the AI will block off and short kick you try to make which is fine but if i turn to aim far left the AI knows where im going and has superman speed to cover the whole ground to get there.

I also have a beef with the defensive accomplishments for VP to unlock them you must play defence which makes sense but my VP is a CDM and would love to be able to play that possie and get defensive skills up a bit higher o im not so poorly rated.

My main annoyance is the players that come up from corners. I have the best header in the game on my side in Tim Cahill, but he doesn'y some into the box for corners! I'd love to know if there's a way to fix this...

Yeah this is a massive pain in the arse and has been the case in previous titles i don't want my 5'5 midget standing in the box to try and out header 6'5 giants. The only thing i can think of to fix this is to create your own set pieces but thats still shit because it doesn't indicate who your moving in to what position you just basically have to guess.
 
I'd say there would be a way to fix that with custom tactics or something similar, though I've never bothered configuring it. I've only scored one header with Cahill, it was a perfect cross though. Saha scores about 2/3 of all my goals.

So I got the game and started as a striker for Melbourne Heart, does anyone know if they can trade me without me having requested it? I'm just wondering how authentic this game really is.

Bloody hell, everytime I conceed a free-kick near my box Vidic and Rio either make up the wall of mark an oppositon player outside the box. I always end up with either Nani, Valencia, Scholes etc marking Drogba for example in the box. Bloody frustrating.

Hahaha yeah thats true i tend to sell most of my injury prone players because i am sick of having half my line up out for 40 odd weeks due to injury.
 
Relised something today, there is scouting... sort of
Finished my season and at the start of the next i had a new player.
A 16 year old kid that i did not scout or sign or anything, he was just there.
It's pretty cool because he is one of my best atm and being so young, should improve greatly:thumbsu:
