But Mens Qualifying begins today. There are 3 Aussies trying to qualify for the main draw.

Here is who they are playing in the 1st round

Wayne Arthurs(Aus) vs Paul Braccanello(Aus) is 1st match on Court 6 due to start at 9am local time (5pm AEST)

Nathan Healey(Aus) vs Frederico Gil(Port) is 5th match on Court 11

I think that a surprise winner might happen because both favourites are under extreme pressure.

Federer is trying to win all 4 slams at once for the first time since Laver. Huge pressure. Nadal having lost 3 of 4 ATP Tour matches to Federer in the past year and seen his clay run snapped knows that only winning RG gives him any chance of closing the gap on No.1 before northern summer 2008 at the earliest. He also knows that a further loss to Federer would put the notion that he is Federer's nemesis to bed with a 4-1 record over the 12 months. Of course he is also going for a RG hat trick which would in itself be a remarkable achievement. Huge pressure.

Paul Braccello pulled out before yesterdays play which meant Wayne Arthurs had a different opponent. Aussie Alun Jones waas also a late call into qualifying yesterday.

I am following Nadal since Aussie Open 2004 .Funny how everyone is a fan of federer, but 3 years ago, before he won anything, i never heard anything about any Federer fan (except a few faithful on MTF)
