Ok, so I was bored tonight, so I decided to got through each of our home and away games, plus likely finals, and give a reason for the result;

Round 1 - vs Adelaide, MCG (1 win, 0 losses)
Our recent history against Adelaide suggests a tough contest where we pull away late and win by a 4-7 goal margin, yet I can see this being a harder match as Adelaide are usually up early, 17 point win

Round 2 - vs Melbourne MCG ( 2 - 0 )
Couldnt wish to play any other side early on in the year, with the form, list and injuries Melbourne has, this should be a percentage builder; 56 point win

Round 3 - vs Geelong MCG ( 2 - 1 )
The NAB Cup GF result will help us here, and with Geelong having early season injury worries, I can see us pushing them right to the wire, although hard to tip a win; 22 point loss

Round 4 - Brisbane GABBA ( 3 - 1 )
I believe our most important early season, game, 2-2 or 3-1 will be a big difference for our top 4 aspirations. We dont play well up there, based on some recent history, but I cant see Brisbane being any better then last year, so we should get home if we do things right late; win by 11 points

Round 5 - vs Essendon ( 4 - 1 )
An 8 day break and a young and inexperienced Essendon side should see us continue our ANZAC day domination of late, easy win; win by 44 points

Round 6 - vs Nth Melbourne DOCKLANDS ( 4 - 2 )
A 6 day break leading into one of "bogey" teams, might mean we hit a bit of a hurdle, Nth's small forwards always worry us, and with Wells and Harvey on fire early season, this might be tough loss by 7 points

Round 7 - vs StKilda DOCKLANDS ( 5 - 2 )
Another 8 day break, and we run into the Saints, who we seem to beat every year now in the Home and Away games at least. I think the Saints might drop a bit this year, so we should win running away;
win by 22 points

Round 8 - vs Carlton MCG ( 5 - 3 )
Running into Carlton off a 6 day break = trouble. I hate playing this mob now, and I'm just wishing we break even this year, and see the return game as our best chance to do so. loss by 14 points

Round 9 - vs West Coast SUBIACO ( 6 - 3 )
A trip the club will enjoy, with plenty of WA magpies supporters, and a fairly weak WCE team, we should be able to grab the points here;
win by 32 points

Round 10 - vs Port Adelaide MCG ( 6 -4 )
See Port as the biggest improvers this year, and they beat us at the G every time we play them there, especially if there's a bit of rain around, I'll predict a scrappy game; loss by 8 points

Round 11 - vs Melbourne MCG ( 7 - 4 )
Queens' Birthday, should be a big crowd, but not even a contest, thank god we get to play the Dees twice; win by 44 points

Round 12 - vs Sydney ANZ Stadium ( 8 - 4 )
Our favourite opponent, at our favourite interstate ground (or maybe AAMI), but still, we should account for a slipping swans side;
win by 27 points

Round 13 - vs Fremantle MCG ( 9 - 4 )
Freo should improve, and Pavlich always worries us, so this could be one of those "oh no" games, but we should really win this; win by 13 points

Round 14 - vs Essendon MCG ( 10 - 4 )
We are on a roll now, and the baby bombers wont get in our way, with our 4th win a row, we move into the top 3 for the first time; win by 29 points

Round 15 - vs Western Buldogs DOCKLANDS ( 10 - 5 )
We have no luck against the dogs, and I believe here they will beat us at their home ground, stopping our run and going back ahead of us
loss by 23 points

Round 16 - vs Hawthorn MCG ( 10 - 6 )
Buddy, Mitchell and Hodge, cant say much more. loss by 33 points

Round 17 - vs Carlton MCG ( 11 - 6 )
Our season may well be defined by how we perform against the scum, and I and I think most will be satisfied, with a split in the games this year, and I believe Carltank will fall away later in the year; win by 9

Round 18 - vs Brisbane MCG ( 12 - 6 )
We move back inside the top 4, after our most impressive performance of the year, with Rocca back after a mid season injury break, the Lions are smashed; win by 72

Round 19 - vs Adelaide AAMI ( 13 - 6 )
Our run at this ground is astounding, and I see no reason why it wont continue with the form we are in; win by 17 points

Round 20 - vs Richmond MCG ( 14 - 6 )
Richmond finally sack Terry Wallace after their finals hopes are dashed on a wet Saturday afternoon, with the pies physicality being too strong;
win by 37 points

Round 21 - vs Sydney MCG ( 15 - 6 )
Its Sydney in Melbourne, no need to explain this one; win by 19 points

Round 22 - vs Western Buldogs ( 15 - 7 )
With a top 4 spot sown up, MM rests some players, including Rocca, Presti and Fraser, and we get pumped by a committed Doggies side, who need to win to have a chance at over taken Port for 4th. loss by 48 points

After 22 rounds, that would give us a 15 win, 7 loss season, with either 3rd or 4th spot our H & A finish, now for the finals.

Qualifying Final - vs Geelong MCG

After resting players the week before, the pies come out slow, with the cats by 26 at half time. A 9 goal 3rd term by the pies is off set by a 5 goal Geelong effort, yet scores are tied at 3 quarter time.
Halfway through the last quarter, Rocca out marks Scarlett and kicks truly to put the pies 10 points up, but we are run off our legs in the last 10 minutes and geelong kick the last 3 goals to win, another heart breaker.
loss by 7 points

Elimination Final - vs Port Adelaide MCG
After an impressive but close loss to Geelong, the pies are angry, and come out firing, kicking 8 goals to 2 in the first. This all but guarantees a win, with Port unable to get closer than 14 points late in the last quarter, making it 3 years in a row with a finals win for the pies
win by 21 points

Preliminary Final - vs Hawthorn MCG
Although the Hawks won their 1st final against the dogs easily, a late hamstring injury to Buddy sees him unfit to play, but ready if they make the GF. With a strong start from the Hawks, the pies trail by 33 points at the 20 minute mark of the 2nd quarter, but 2 goals to livewire Brad Dick, see them only trailing by 19 at half time. With a scrappy 3rd quarter, the pies tackle as hard as ever, yet make little in roads, yet get to within 11 points after a lenght of the field Thomas goal with seconds remaining in the quarter.
Both sides take their Huddles to thier cheer squads, and 90,000 people go nuts, as the ball is bounced to start the last.
Hawthorn goal early through Bateman, but the pies respond 8 minutes later with a goal from Thomas, and close the gap to just 8 points. The hawks without Buddy, go inside 50 more then the pies in the next 10 mins, yet fail to get a goal. Collingwood, bouyed on by a majority crowd, surge forward, and Swan breaks a pack to move the pies within 4 points.
After 22 mins of gut busting play, Wood bombs the ball to the top of the square, where Didak does an over head Scissor kick, that goes 30 metres the wrong way but lands in Medhurst's arms. Medhurst kicks high as always, and from 45 out, just makes the distance as the pies take their first lead of the match. Hawthorn surges forward, and scores a contentous behind that most claim was deliberate from Presti, but "Uncle" Ray Chamberlain says it was under pressure, and in a contest. Cox from the kickout finds, Shaw, who holds on to the ball, booting it 55 metres just before the siren sounds.
win by 1 point

Grand Final - Geelong MCG
After one of the greatest finals win's of all time, the pies seem drained early, and Geelong takes advantage of this with a 27 point lead at half time. The pies, bouyed by Rocca's return after being knocked out early, the pies rally, with the Southern Stand shaking as the pies close to a 3 point gap late in the 3rd, with Ablett goaling late to grab an 8 point lead.
With talk from all over that both clubs lose GF's for a living, it's anyone's guess as the last quarter of 09 starts. Geelong goal through Chapman early, but Hawkins misses a sitter from 20 out and the pies go the length of the ground and goal through Davis, closing to 10 points.
Out of the middle, Pendelbury bamboozles all, beating 6 opponents before kicking one of the greatest goals ever seen, and the noise is deafening.
Bouyed by this, the pies press forward, where Rocca is knocked out once again, but receives a free 40 out, as Jack Anthony runs 50 metres to take coaxe the umpire into believing he was closest, he goals and the pies are in front for the first time at the 19 minute mark.
Geelong, seemingly tired and strugglinh, are sparked by an Ablett run that ends in a poster, pushing the score to a 1 point Collingwood lead, as time on starts.
The next 4 minutes are scrappy, and you can cut the tension with a knife, but Dayne Beams cuts through a pack, runs his full 15 metres, handballs to Didak who goals from the boundary 45 out, sending pies supporters into raptures.
Geelong respond almost immediately, surging forward where Mooney takes a pack mark, goes back and slot it, the Channel 10 clock reads 29:55, as the ball is bounced, and a pile up ensues as the pies attempt to cling to a 1 point lead. Out of the pack comes the maligned Cook, handballing to Didak who finds Cloke who outmarks 2 right on 50. The umpire does not blow time on, yet prematurely calls Cloke to play on, forcing him to punt it in the air. As the ball hits the pack, 15 out, the umpire raises both hands in the air, to signal it's all over, yet noone but the umpires know the suren has gone.
Seconds later, Didak is first to figure it out and lets out a scream that is heard around the world, and CHAOS ENSUES FOR WEEKS.
COLLINGWOOD BY 1 POINT, 2009 PREMIERS.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so I took a bit of creative, maybe even biased licensing in the finals, but I was hardly going to say we were going to lose a Prelim or a GF again.

Thoughts, Criticism or have a crack yourself, it's the best I can do.

What! No mention of the easter bunny, santa Claus or the tooth fairy?

They're on the VFL list.

Still, I was getting nervous just reading the GF report. :thumbsu:

Come on...It's just a bit of pre-season fiction.
I hope you blokes are up and around because I've booked for the Anzac game and want to see a classic nail biter, with a Pies win obviously.

Go Pies.
