Re: Some unusual Supabah XLI predictions

Which team will use the coach challenge first?

Billy Joel singing the national anthem- over/under- 1 minute 42 seconds

Which team will have the shortest field goal during the game?

Which half will have the fewest points scored?

Manning pass attempts...o/u 36

Points- who will get more...the Colts in the SB or LeBron james in the Cavs game?

And so it goes.....

1. Dungy
2. over
3. Mr Clutch AV
4. first
5. over
6. colts will surpass 18

and I'll throw in one other question: Total Turnovers in Supabah u/o 4?

Re: Some unusual Super Bowl bets

3. Colts
4. 1st Half
5. Over
6. Colts easily.

Re: Superbowl Betting

Indianapolis -7.0 @$2.00 ($10)
Game total under 48.0 @ 1.91 ($10)

Total Passing Yards for Rex Grossman over 217.5 @ $2.50 ($15)
Total Rushing Yards for Thomas Jones under 75.5 @ 1.83 ($10)
First TD Scorer - Ben Utecht @ $41 (+20% bonus) ($5)

Thats my flutter.

Should have just stuck to the normal bets and not went exotic

Betting during the season - how much did you win?

For those of you who dont know I won the BigFooty NFL 2006/07 Tipping Competition :) but I cant really boast because I won absolutely ZERO as far as $$$ is concerned

I spent about $100 this year basically betting small amounts at a time on large odds combinations.......I might have to change my strategy next year :o

Now that the season's over, how much did you win for the year, what types of bets did you use etc.?

basically the same as you, lol, put some before the season started on both the ravens and panthers for the Superbowl, then throughout the year put on mnay multi bets at big odds (missed one bet at odds of about $104 by a last minute field goal:mad: )which all lost and then might have one a couple of single game bets, all up though i am definitely down but it is just a bit of fun

Re: Betting during the season - how much did you win?

Got off to a good start early betting mainly 'teasers' (killed em on these last year!) and took the odd 'line' that was off pretty hard. Up about $700 by week 8. Then.....everything I took turned to turds for the next 2 months!!

Just in the red by post season but had a couple of good weeks over the finals. Most of the numbers favoured Chicago so took the Bears (small) with the start and watched quite possibly the worst QB in Superbowl history throw it back to the Colts at every opportunity!

All a bit of fun while waiting for the 'real stuff' to start in the month ahead. That's when things get serious. Roll on AFL

Re: Betting during the season - how much did you win?

Roughly made $500 bucks. But spent in excess of $300 over the course of the season so ended up roughly up $200. My biggest win was in Week 1 when i put $75 on Baltimore to beat Tampa at odds or $2.35.

Re: Superbowl Betting

That's how good Hester is, the Colts ever after kicked away from him, even squib kick-offs to avoid his possible returns thruout the game!! Which also is an indictment on Grossman. The Colts never really feared his potential.

Best long shots

Looking on Sportingbet at the teams + 41/1 for the Superbowl.

Now the way its shaping with the talent of New England, Indianapolis, Baltimore, New Orleans... etc its hard to see a team 'getting through' but for discussion sake here are my top chances to do that.

Minnesota Vikings 81/1 - They are a passing game away from contending. They have the massive o-line and run game, the best run defense, decent pass coverage, and a refreshed attitude. If they find a diamond in the rough at QB... who knows...

St Louis Rams 61/1 - at the same price as the Green Bay Packers I think these are the best odds you'll find. They have Bulger, one of the leagues best RB's coming into his own so that side of it is fine so they can get the points up. If they reach an identity on defense (ie. New Orleans, they dont have to be awesome, they just have to be good at what they do) they are one of my best chances in the NFC regardless.

Washington Redskins 51/1 - absolutely loaded with $$ and talent. that defense could single handedly win some games. they have an up-and-coming star QB... Portis... big play receivers... keep them handy.

at 41/1 you've got other hopes like Atlanta and San Francisco. I like them too. Obviously the beauty of it is that anyone can win it at this time of year. Once again however I repeat its hard to see anyone getting past the A-class of this league for a couple of years. But these are NFC hopes.... and we know the NFC is weak as water compated to the AFC. Most of the NFC's best teams are all in one division (Car, Atl, NO) so I think these teams give you the best hope.

Re: Best long shots

I would have to agree that the those odds on St. Louis are very good. Better value than the other 2. Stats wise, Bulger is a very good (underrated) QB. To win in the playoffs you need good QB play. And with Jackson at RB, they could be tempting. Just need better line play and better D. But the NFC is wide open (again). I do think the SB Champ will come from the AFC again, but as they say - "Any given Sunday". Some team has to play for the NFC in the SB.

Re: Best long shots

Well the skins D-line is still sh1thouse or non existant at this stage so im stuggling to think how their going to get the ball back. Thats unless their back safties and CBs run rampant (which their highly capable of).

Re: Best long shots

I agree the Rams are great value odds. Have the hapless opponents in NFC West to contend with which is a plus. (sorry Wizard & Brasher). With the MONSTER addition of DE Adam Carricker, I can see the Rams going in the right direction instead of staying stagnant. Bro-in-law will be pleased about these odds.

Washington are continually in "BUYING SUCCESS MODE" so I think the hype is not worth the trouble to pay too much attention to. Pass.

The Soda pops are too far behind Chicago for my liking to give them a shot. Pass.

Re: Best long shots

The Rams won't win anything with Haslett looking after their D.

They look very "New Orleans" with an explosive offense and useless defense (pre 2006 of course).

I know he's supposed to be a defensive guru but I'm yet to see it.

haha... the Saints were never that good on offense

Re: Best long shots

I've started to roam Betfair the last couple of days and found a couple of things of interest:

They are offering wagers for the divisional winners... available is

1.22 Indianapolis Colts ($217) to win division (pretty much certainty!)

2.10 Baltimore Ravens ($43) to win division (dont even think about saying anything Pittsburgh fans, these are great odds)

.. and New England 1.12 ($483)...

I'm not down with the whole Betfair system but I see some people are trying to get other punters to offer them $2 - $2.40 for New England to win the division... good luck with that! haha
Some punter is trying to get $21 on Indianapolis @ $3...

2007 Season Bets & Futures

I'm keen to put a few bets on before the season starts on who will win divisions and who will go over/under the win line.

I think there is some value to be had here and that is obviously because you have to wait a whole season until you get your result.

I havent found a lot of markets but at the moment I see

  • Indianapolis as a division winner 1.35
  • San Diego as a division winner 1.50
  • Seattle as a division winner 2.20
  • Indianapolis to go +10.5 wins 1.92
  • Baltimore to go +9.5 wins 1.92

We arent talking big returns here but in most cases its a 95% sure thing (nothing is cetain of course). It would be nice if I could multi these together but I'm not sure if I can.

Does anyone know of any sites with more markets? better odds? or maybe even the possibility of multi'ing these together.

Cheers :thumbsu:

Re: 2007 Season Bets & Futures

I dont mind Jacksonville in that division.

Could you really see them getting over Indianapolis though?

Indy have had a 14 win and 12 win season that last two... a superbowl to boot now.

I too like Jacksonville but I see them in a fight they cant win, particularly with the offense they are trying to pull together at the moment. No stability... dito for Tennessee and Houston in that division.

Agreed... until the Jags sort out who their QB is going to be, they're going to be too inconsistent on offense to be a serious challenger.

Neither Leftwich or Garrard have shown enough to warrant putting any hard-earned on them, and IMO, they should've traded one a couple of years ago, or better still, gone in a completely different direction and drafted another QB, because neither will win them a SB.
