Defending his coach. Do not believe that is what he wanted. No gun mid player would want it. Careful comment Danger made, to parphrase "whatever postion helps gets us the win." I heard him say that. Well, we didn't win, so I read between the lines there. So according to this both Scott and Danger agreed he should stay at FF in the 3rd, thats really strange that Danger would want that rather than being in the action.

Geelong coach under fire after 'horrible' grand final decision
Cats fans are out for blood, claiming a head-scratching decision in the third quarter cost Geelong the grand final.7news.com.au
It was raised after Dahlhaus & Hawkins spoiled each other (2nd quarter), that Hawkins would have called Dahlhaus out, but the noise at ground level was making it hard to hear teammatesAnd no-one talked to hi, no-one said Gryan you have time. That is a major problem for us.

I can’t blame him for doing it. I mean the main leader in our forward line does it. What’s he supposed to think? The rushing is the frustrating part. Why act like we are 2 goals down with 1 minute to play. Go back and compose yourself.
Hopefully he learns from it. But otherwise he was good last night.
I thought as a head coach should make this decision instead of asking your player...So according to this both Scott and Danger agreed he should stay at FF in the 3rd, thats really strange that Danger would want that rather than being in the action.

It’s why when they have injuries they still win games. Everyone plays to the system. Im honestly not sure how to stop them.

We have Danger and Hawkins at near top of their games. Both tops picks or would've been.I'm not sure if he's blaming a lack of draft capital. But Richmond also has Cotchin (pick 2), Martin (pick 3), Lynch (7), Prestia (9) and Vlastuin (9) still at or near the top of their games.
The only top 10 picks we have that I can think of are Selwood (7), who's on his way down, and Henderson (8), who at 30 is playing close to career-best football, which doesn't say a lot for his career up to now.
He has to think for himself. But yeah, its frustrating every time anyone does it. Especially Hawk.I can’t blame him for doing it. I mean the main leader in our forward line does it. What’s he supposed to think?

Probably Rohan's best season pick 6
That have just done it better it's the way it goes.
If we don't like we don't get enough draft picks let's not get Cameron next year!
It's no excuse. We can't have it both ways.
Their way has worked better than ours. (Not that we have been bad)
Hawkins had one of his best years and would have been a first-rounder, Selwood pick 7, Dangerfield pick 10, Henderson pick 8, Rohan pick 6... But focusing on where players have been drafted is rather pointless. A lot of teams in the comp have far more high draft picks than either side, many in their prime, and they're not competitive. It's a matter of astute selection, good development and developing a system that's effective and a lot of your players can slot into.I'm not sure if he's blaming a lack of draft capital. Yes but not make the final decision. Why have a Coach? Not necessarily, Danger being a senior leader would put his 2 cents in along with the assistants.

I think we have Brisbane and Port covered. But not Richmond. I can’t see anyone beating them.Pretty heart broken about last night, from about half way through the second quarter you could see they went to a gear that we don’t have.
Personally, I don’t see how Higgins, Smith and Cameron move us into a position to beat Richmond,Port or Brisbane next year.
Get Cameron, but outside of that slight rebuild should be the key, need to get younger players with ability to beat the top teams.
At least we saved the Tiger army some money, just watch last years Prelim, there is no difference between either match
Mods.
Can you start a new thread for the 2021 team and beyond? As I want to talk about the potential of our side and best way to play etc
Let me finish my coffee and I'll get something going
It is and by a far way too.

West Coast can’t play away. Very overrated. They only won it in 2018 due to one of the biggest upsets of all time in the prelim.I think Brisbane and West Coast are the 2.
Brisbane beat them this year, young players are a year more experienced and they should take a lot from this finals series.A fit Daniher gives them possibly the biggest missing piece for their setup.
West Coast still have close to the best list in the league. If they can get back the consistency they had in 2018 they are easily good enough to challenge Richmond.
