Credit to Stewart played his guts out.

Stanley fought hard but skills fell away at the end.

Simpson was good too and showed the ultimate level of courage -

Guthrie tried hard. Selwood led from the front. PFD tried to make it himself it didnt work. Its a team game and flying for everything and runnign thru every pack wont win you GF.

The best I can hope for is that the burn in the guts they are feeling right now sticks there and drives them all from top to bottom.

GO Catters

Strangely, not as beaten up by a GF loss as I have been in the past.

Not sure why. Have mentioned this before.
A sort of detachment. Would have been good to win but...Meh!
Great effort to get to the big dance and loving watching footy deep into October which is normally a sporting desert for those of us who don't follow the nags
Interesting trade period coming up
Go Wellsy !

Should of been further up at half time but wernt and tigers made us pay.
Heat just has to come for perennial finals failure players such as Rohan, kolo and Blitz they just turn to absolute water. Scott out coached again too. Someone just anyone had to sacrifice their game for Dusty but instead Kolo just played a metre off him.... Just brain dead stuff. Silver lining is if you ever want to lose a granny this is the year as it honestly didn't feel as 'real' given the season and the venue. Chuck in Cameeron and hopefully some pace and hopefully hungrier next year
So sick of it being next year. Time and time again since 2012.

Hard to say this, but I can see Richmond winning again next season unless another team really jump up out of the pack next season, us included. Once they hit peak form, no-one can go with them at the moment.

1992 GF all over again. On top first half, didn't make it count, run over in the second half.

The bottom 6 decide GFs. Ours were ordinary. Too many plodders, not enough pace in this team.
Yep Clarke won the grand final sprint - wasn't in the team. When I saw the rain before the game I thought - out Rohan and in close but of course we just can't be tall enough can we.

Well get a new one next year. Myers should be playing up in the midfield more. My main hope is that Geelong go after miss in the draft. The backline is fine the forward line will be better by having Cameron in it and then we could do with getting maybe one or two more small forwards. Feel funnily enough that we could get there next season if it is the case we can get over Richmond.

Made the backline work till it cracked, just not good enough up forward, l think they need to let a few go.

One thing that is upsetting: Sam Simpson played really well for a kid with 20 games under his belt, and he probably won't remember any of it.

2008 was worse.

With what 2020 has thrown and a lot of people worldwide, footy was just an outlet and we're lucky to even be in this position.

Nightmare of last year's final 2nd half fade.
Thought they had it won at half time...
so stopped doing all the the things that got them in front.
When Tigers lifted the usual suspects deviated from the game plan.
We eased our intensity and lost momentum.

I'm totally gutted... we lit it slip
Richmond were too good and took their opportunity
It hurts but the Cats will learn and improve next year.

I'm disappointed for Gazza and Harry going out this way.
I will keep their memories forever.

Face it - midfield not good enough to not get dominated for one or two quarters, especially when are winning. Like port in 3rd quarter. Camenon won’t solve that problem. We are too thin and weak in the midfield against the Tigers.
Cameron will help with making sure we don’t have a one dimensional forward line which has been part of the problem. We need to go and get young kids in the draft and build around them then or trade them in. This is part of our problem not the ends.

He's definitely one for the future. Excited to see his career unfold.

Enough with the Richmond slander. Say what you want about their supporters, the gameplan etc.

But it works!! It's not pretty but it works and bloody well.

They're a great side and we can't go with them at their best.

If Scott does indeed go it's down to the club needing a fresh voice, not because he can't beat Richmond, seeing as 16 other coaches can't do that either right now.

Watching Richmond rats run around everywhere and Dustin Martin snap another goal over his shoulder while our players stand still and look at him.

The whole second half was our players standing around watching while tigers ran everywhere when it mattered.

We can’t beat them.

I honestly reckon the wet weather fading did that one. Tigers are a quick bouncing rebounding team and once it dried up we couldnt go with them.
Yeah maybe. They were just too good. Just before they came back out at half time when they ran out they were all upbeat cheering and TBH I kinda knew it was done.
Just upset. The start of the last in particular we were only down by a little bit and a few players didn't go their hardest to say the least.
But the first half it was great to enjoy just for that hour or so.
Anyway it's done now. Was a good year.

As devastated as I am right now, I'd still rather have made the GF than bowed out AGAIN in Prelims. At least this finals campaign gave me a modicum of belief that the club could go something in September again, even if we weren't able to salute on the final day of the season. The cumulative effect of all those Prelim failures had me at the point where I was utterly numb and just felt pre-emptively deflated both going in to finals and during finals. I had just got to the point where I didn't even feel that excited by finals anymore, which was just soul crushingly dispiriting at a certain point. This year at least got me some emotional investment in finals back.
