As much as it pains me to admit it.. the 2026 Geelong side, remind me of the 2007 Geelong side! Not only is the current team stacked with Rolls Royces.. but the handball happy game plan is very 2007 like. It's easy to make an argument that this Geelong side is the most talented list in the AFL, and they should be flag favourites with the bookies.

Don't let the current ladder fool you as Geelong have had the hardest draw.. and they've been unlucky with illness/flu/gastro running through their side during recent September campaigns! Geelong have the best list in the AFL.. do you agree? If not then why not?? I'd be interested to hear arguments as to why Geelong's list isn't the best.

Another Geelong-Sydney grand final. We all know the premiers and it's only May

Geelong is turning the AFL into a farmers league akin to the SPFL and Gemran Bundesliga

The comp and footy this year is so predictable and boring for neutrals. For the sake of a good grand final can we not have Sydney getting smashed on GF day again?

Deserved flag favourites in my books. Bailey Smith a Brownlow Medalist and AFLPA MVP. 6 All Australians (Stewart, Baz, Holmes, Mannagh, Neale, Jez. Geelong's VFL team also going to win the VFL Premiership

Geelong 2026 = Geelong 2022

Indifferent early season form, lose Easter Monday to Hawthorn

Massive winning streak in the second half of the season. Smash Sydney in the gramd final

Probs around 6-10th best list.

Average midfield with no depth. Solid defence with no A grader outside of tom Stewart who is over the hill and not an AA level anymore.

Good forward line but needs Stengle back.

Brisbane are absolutely stacked on every line with stars, geelong isn’t.

Geelong is just so brilliantly coached it’s ridiculous what he gets out of them.

We don't get gifted academy picks, we don't get COLA, we've never bottomed out so we've never had high draft picks and certainly not priority picks. We've had to assemble our list the hard way. Mature age recruits, Irish Cat B signings out of nowhere, some Olympic steeplechaser who's gone on to play 302 games. A WAFL reserves player taken with the last pick, who's become the best kick coming off HB that I've seen in decades. Then we've made ourselves a destination club, so established stars from other teams want to come here- and this has been a combination of excellent coaching and a strict "no dickheads" rule.

To paraphrase Jeff Bridges's character from the first Iron Man movie: "Chris Scott was able to assemble this list in a cave! From a box of scraps!."

17th best list. Worst is Richmond's.

Not really as is the case in most of the finals series since 2012 (excluding 2022) we have had a VERY happy ending when they crash out of the finals.

I’d say you have a happy ending every time you walk near a Thai business based on your shit posting here.

Depends what your definition of boring is.

The AFL has done everything on the planet that could work against a side like geelong staying afloat.

Northern academies that strengthen exclusive teams.

General academies with geelong being given deliberately a weak one

No recent father sons coming through ( yes just chance, but the roll of the dice has gone against us)

Very poor draft picks the last two decades

Yet.. we are looking at potentially another top four finish and a crack again at it.

We are just a very well run club off field and have the best coach in the AFL.

you can just admire a well coached club, or you can sulk. Up to supporters
