You could have said that about most Port players in that final, including those in Robbo's top 20, and we have said that about multiple Cats in the past, which was rectified in 22.
One final does not tarnish him indefinitely in my eyes.
Young player that needs lots of MF time.

They might not necessarily
Maybe a FR2 Upgrade from a fr3

But you need to remember Adam’s is extremely replaceable, his midfield minutes this year was down from 80% to 20% from memory.
He’s also 30 years old and probably on 500-600k
Clear that off the books is a great thing for the pies

CATS’ INTEREST IN O’BRIEN

Geelong has interest in former Hawk and Bulldog Tim O’Brien, according to SEN’s Sam Edmund.


O’Brien was last month delisted by the Bulldogs after crossing over from the Hawks as a free agent on a two-year deal.

And the 29-year old, who played 115 AFL games and was hampered by injury during his time at Whitten Oval, is now in Geelong’s sights.

Hopefully. Even if we traded back a few spots plus for a pick in the late teens that would be a good result. You’d have to be sure though that “your man” wasn’t going to be taken from you.

WC have nothing atm... lets see if they trade P1. If they do then we can talk ..but as it stands I agree with you... there is nothing that would tempt me.

Its interesting how we are going for O'Brien but could've got Hamling also... Hamling is better, but Hamling will be wanting best 22...

Anyway, O'Brien is totally fine for insurance on our list.

Totally fine trading 7 for two picks, and then also using the Sav pick. Who knows, we might trade our picks again on the night once we have our three picks available on the night after Esava and Pick 7 trades earlier...

Darcy Wilson is a good fit for us, goal kicking outside mid, would work great with Holmes on the outside. Means we can put Dempsey forward more, and he can go wing when necessary.

We can definitely have a crack for a Key defender like Shoenmakers, and also get ZZ for a Blitz replacement.

For me, if we can't get Caddy, then go Wilson, Shoenmakers and ZZ or Stevens. Wilson will add some class/x-factor, same with Shoenmakers as a Key Defender, then it's a question do we want a Ball Hunting big body inside mid like Stevens, or get ZZ for overall plug and fit player like Blicavs for next gen.

This all assumes Sanders is gone, and I don't think he will make it to our Pick 7, which will become Pick 9 or so on the night.

The way Clayton was talking on TR ... they may not be in a hurry to trade p4 but they also want to get on with it.I guess we see if they wait or not. We will know soon now.
