Obrien is terrible.
Zakostelsky looks more like a Blitz, a slightly under-sized ruck, but can play around the ground. I'd be interested to know if he has a massive engine after the testing. It depends if we see Knevitt as the Blitz replacement, which I'm not sure he is as I don't think he can pinch-hit ruck, maybe once or twice, but definitely not 5-10mins per quarter.
I'm guessing you've conflated two things. One was "Shifter" showing 4 Irish players the facilities at a number of AFL clubs. Geelong today. And my unrelated reference to the Blues "signing" 2 Irish players. The latter apparently occurred in August when a contingent went to Ireland to have a look-see with the view to establishing a base of sorts.Out of interest, which 2 of the 4 that have come down under?

Cheap insurance though.
Naughton just signed an 8 year deal with the dogs. Crazy
I can accept it because hes free and the kpd market it thin. But id rather a state league kpd.
If we’re not all in for Oliver than something is wrong with us.
EXACT player that’d lift us more than anything. It’s our biggest hole. It’s be danger or Cameron level impact.
Our mids are bottom 4 at the minute with maybe holmes and potentially Clark the only decent talent but nothing In Our list looks like becoming a top 10 AFL mid.
We need to go hard.
Oh and Tim Obrien… just stop it

Stanley has gone massively backwards. As has most of our team compared to 12 months ago. What we have on paper now is simply not good enough to trouble top 4. We need a better Stanley replacement and A grade mid. The rest is fixable. My memory is hazy but about 12 months ago, I think the Cats won a flag with Stanley and Blicavs sharing ruck duties?
Add Conway with another pre season and I think we’ll be ok. Also got Furphy Crisp who we rookied recently. Neale as a chop out and maybe another state leauger as back up

According to who? You? I'll be taking the clubs opinion on this one.If we’re not all in for Oliver than something is wrong with us.

So where do we go to get the picks from to accomodate the trade? If we’re not all in for Oliver than something is wrong with us.

I don't think anyone doubts his talent, people like me are worried about going into next season with Stanley, who missed games, and Conway, who missed a lot of VFL/AFL. Need a third, reliable ruck. But I don't think anyone doubts Conways potential.Even just playing can improve your tank immensely.
Pretty stupid to think his tank won’t improve, totally agree with you people are gunna be made to loom silly.
I would be surprised if there isn't like 5 or 6 clubs interested. But he is on big coin who can afford him?Callum Twomey has us as one of the clubs now weighing up making a play for Oliver.
He's going to Adelaide or the Dogs. Nothing surer. Can we stop with the Clayton Oliver pipedream?
We have neither
A) Draft Picks
B) Players
Required to get that deal done that Melbourne would want without gutting our already old list. Cats fans need to lower their expectations.
Even Bailey Smith or Ollie Wines will be hard to get and would require some genius moves to pull it off.
Talent-wise Oliver would be an amazing pick up. As others have said, exactly what we need.I dont see us having enough to be a legit chance... Our P7 and our Fr1 would still be well short imo.

You're right, either go get Smith, or just prioritise picks and young talent like a Lord/Duursma.

Our under 25s have the potential to be really special, it's the best group we've had coming through since the dynasty years...but we need a couple more.
That's our next premiership side for mine, but the club will go for one last shot next year, hence the Oliver talk.
Smith makes more sense though, and suits what we should be doing IMO.

Never watched him, so clearly he's not in the Sav or Cox leagueObrien is terrible.

Such a Basketball style trade.
Did Cal say we were or that he thought we should be?Callum Twomey has us as one of the clubs now weighing up making a play for Oliver.
