I know just about every square inch of that region.

The first time as an adult I near on pissed my pants was a day that included being up Gentle Annie and South Hells Gate. Far scarier than the time local rednecks fired off cartridges at our overnight site. I still have a momento.
yep it is a very nice area, not much gentle about gentle annie, i are a lot more knowledgable in the immediate crossover to hillend area as i virtually lived there most weekends from 12Yo onwards Reckon my old KX80 covered every single track west of the latrobe river and off the hawthrorne creek track. didnt go to bunyip state park too often because there were far to many melbournites riding there however the old labourtouche bike park got a few visits. the clockwise loop that begins just over the hawthorn bridge latrobe river crossing has one of the most fun uphill blasts in the area, you get massive air of every single one of the washoffs. you get to the top of the hill with a smile you couldn't wipe of your face with a wire brush.

Just to rekindle your memories Nate. Gentle Annie and Hells gate south on the horizon from our entrance.

not visible would be tarago reservoir and neerim sth township which are obscured by nearby hills which are at the foot of the distant mountains.
Thanks for the memories.
I've got a mate sending me pics from Bullock Link Track which hasn't changed!

Currently home schooling a grade 2 kid.

I'm grumpy at diagraphs.

Firstly, what in the flying fire truck is a diagraph?

Secondly, how is a 7 year old supposed to know about something that 2 parents don't.

I dunno about these new fangled teaching techniques, but I do know 1 thing; Teachers must drink A LOT!

EDIT: This was my 5,000th post on BigFooty. Not quite Gaso's 50,000th post, but it's in the same thread, so there has to be something to that!

wouldnt want to be out there anymore this season just had very wet april rainfall. personally i dont see the appeal of taking a relatively expensive vehicle out there and wrecking it on those trails, then having to ultimately winch out anyway only to come home and have to spend money reparing for the next trip. at least the motorcycles seem to be a lot more immune to damage on these tracks. not that its much fun when its this wet, even bone dry isnt a lot of fun unless you like inhaling copious amounts of dust.

I think a diagraph stops a chick from getting pregnant

You moron - read this!

A digraph or digram is a pair of characters used in the orthography of a language to write either a single phoneme, or a sequence of phonemes that does not correspond to the normal values of the two characters combined.

Did you say year seven? Ummm - I'll do some more research and get back to you.

Hang on, so now I'm not even spelling di(a)graph correctly!?

Ok, the next word up is "Orthography". I'll look that one up for us gk: "From the Greek "orthos" that means just that: straight or erect". Hmmmmm, not touching this one with a 10 foot orthos pole.

My nephew works at a racing stud. They use phonemes to stimulate the horses in " ahem " the " bedroom "

Not sure why a 7yr old needs to know this though.

Hmmmm - grade seven was the best two years of my school life but even then I don't remember any of this stuff. Too busy learning Latin and dodging the Christian Brothers.

Just realised you said 7yo - not year seven. Wow - I don't understand it now.

Unintended humour is the best humour of all. Well done gk.

But yeah, this teaching stuff is tougher than it looks. I'm good with numbers, so the maths stuff comes rather naturally. Actually, it all does . But keeping a kid focused on school-work for the best part of 6 hours is nigh on impossible.

I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar, so last week I bought myself one for my birthday.

Turns out it's harder than it looks. My stumpy fingers can't get into any positions other than a basic E and A chord, and the tips of my fingers have lost all feeling. ☹

You might be right with Status Quo songs :) Alternately, buy a drum kit and chop off an arm 🙃

Dangerous territory knocking the " QUO " man 😡
Not knocking the Quo, just offering a BFer some encouragement. After all, the very great J Fogerty flung them a tune or 2
