THE SIX POINTS
1. The Dockers will be searching for four consecutive wins for the first time since rounds 16-19 last season. In the last three weeks they've tallied 55 goals to just 24 from their opponents.

2. Both sides have struggled to take the ball inside 50 this season – Collingwood is 12th, averaging 50.5, and is 15th for marks inside 50, while Freo is 14th for inside 50s and equal-last for marks inside 50.

3. Collingwood has dominated Fremantle at the MCG, winning six of their eight contests. The Pies have won the past four and the Dockers haven't beaten them at the venue since round 15, 2006.

4. Collingwood and Fremantle meet for the 27th time and the Magpies hold a 15-11 advantage. But the Dockers have won the past three – their equal-longest winning sequence against the Pies.

5. Reigning Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe was the difference between the sides the last time they met, with 32 disposals and two goals, while Aaron Sandilands dominated the ruck with 50 hit-outs and 17 disposals – all handballs. However, both are sidelined with injury.

6. By virtue of his career-best 43 possessions (20 contested) in Freo's win over Port Adelaide, midfielder Michael Barlow has leapt from No.157 to No.136 in the Schick AFL Player Ratings. His all-time high ranking was 80th at the end of 2014.

PREDICTION: A cold but happy farewell to my 20somethings @ The MCG, Freo by 16.

most probably will miss the start/1st half of this game as my son will want to go for a kick after i finish work, might have to pretend i'm too drunk to kick a footy:D Would be great if we can carry the momentum from the last few weeks into this game

Will be hard to beat them in view of Pies having had their bye and us a six day break and travelling. The fixtuering always seems so fair.to WA teams

The Pies will run away in the last quarter being the fresher team

looking forward to this one. Really enjoying the development phase of the team. Such a bummer Smith went down, he had a real chance to press his case for another contract and I was enjoying his efforts.
Looking for Hill to have a blinder, has been down a bit lately.

Ah Friday night football :)
Have woken the kids up at 4am. The missus has explicit instructions to prevent the 18 month old from having a day time nap. Both kids asleep by 7pm. Take-away fried chicken and watch the game recorded on fox. (Thats the plan anyway ;)!!)
We can win this. The short break is not ideal, but I think we may make a fast start, have a decent lead at half time (26 points) and eventually run away with the 4 points by a 13 point margin.
Pav, in what is likely to be his last MCG game, will turn back the clock and kick 5. Son-Son to kick 3 first 1/4 goals.
Blakely BOG with 31 disposals most of them contested and a bucket load of clearances.
Crozier will take mark of the year using Cloke as a step ladder.
Hannath will show every one that he can play and will turn in an excellent performance, including a goal saving spoil over Cox in the middle of the final 1/4 just as Collingwood are looking like stealing the game. (Okay so this bit may be wishful thinking ;)!)
The Freo chant will start midway thru the last 1/4 and not end until the final siren....Freeeeooo, Freeeeooooo, Freeeooooo!!!
Us by 13 points. A win will also be a whole game with no more injuries!!!!
(Or all of the above may be wrong and we lose by 21 :(!)

The stats say the team coming off the bye have the disadvantage. I feel that you guys are too fixated on that 6 day break, and are not looking at the awesome momentum we currently have. History says that Collingwood will be slow out of the blocks after spending a week away from footy.

Expectations are low, expecting to lose, like last week thought we could win but would need to play well.

Pies would be on the same amount of wins as us if it weren't for Richmond being Richmond with Grundy kicking that last second goal in Rd2-3.

If we were to win I reckon the heat on Bucks will go up another couple of notches, only 6 games to discuss, the Eddie/Caro stuff would've died down, Pies have had their fair share of injuries but they'd be pencilling this in.

What about last night?

Just can't see us winning coming up against a rested team with only 6 days off traveling east. Absolute horseshit.

Yep, basically exactly what North had last night and we saw how that turned out.

typically post round 12 the bye has a positive effect so i'd expect them to be alot fresher.

having said that, Lyon seems to have the wood over Bucks lately.

He does love the wet.
Sportsbet has got him at $6.40 to get 35+ disposals. Not bad odds considering the conditions should be perfect for Barlow.
But just checked hes only ever been over 35.5 twice in his whole AFL career 1st was 37 against collingwood rd14 2012, second was 42 last week.
I had always imagined barlow had more

Is there a Freo drinking hole near the G to go to before or after the game?
Today's the sort of day where one requires warming up. A few options nearby:
  • Young & Jackson's
  • Beer Deluxe
  • Duke of Wellington
  • also a couple on Punt Road which are closeish
