The NFL have it right, it's why it's the most intense game in the world.
It's knockout. There has to be a winner.
Wouldn't have happened without extra time![]()

Do away with keeping score as well. Every game can be guaranteed to be a draw. Everyone gets a flag at the end. Why, we are happy with draws in season. Just share the flag.
Thinking logistically, so the whole next phase is pushed back? Or would Cats/Swans still play while Port/WC play again?i miss tradition
Replay next week letting everyone have the bye whilst ensuring the mcg gets their weekly game!
You get it about once a decade. People assume you'd get that level of excitement in every game with extra time, but you really wouldn't if it became more common.

first 3 quarters were pretty boring probably. why not just play a single quarter with extra time if neededWhy does a draw need to be a thing if more excitement can be generated from a cut-throat game of footy?
Cats/Swans would still play, in case they ended in a draw they would have another week to play the replay.... blah
The idea of a replay has had it's day.... it's unworkable in a national/professional league... it screwed Essendon in 1990

Draws are still so uncommon I don't care too much either way. I assume they introduced ET as a rule after the 2010 GF? I'm surprised it took that long...

Miss yesterday's game did ya?Starts tomorrow maaaaaate
"No, there's 4 points attached to the game".
Why is a win worth 4 and a draw worth 2?
Why not make it 2 for a win and 1 for a draw?
Or take it a step further and make it one point for a win and no such thing as a draw?
SANFL does 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw. Percentage is out of 100, too."No, there's 4 points attached to the game".

Individual plays are awesome, but it's hardly intense when you have to stop to switch over one of your three teams between plays.

Stick with tradition, **** making things more exciting because of tradition.
