This has always been the case

The reason for the low tolerance on low numbers now is they blow us very easily. With 70-80% of population vaxxed, it's a lot slower a spread (and thus more manageable)

If it goes off its ****, then we have a problem, but it's much less likely.

It's when the hospitalization numbers become more a factor (and NSW is running at 5% of infected in hospital which isn't great, hence why let it rip isn't appropriate yet)

But I also believe 99% of these rumours come from within the government so everyone is accepting of what they do bring in as it’s better than the rumour. Softening people up, they’ve done a lot of that over this pandemic.
