That might be a point if detention was confined to that circumstance.
Probably difficult to proactively write in limitations? I don’t know, not involved in drafting law whether you have lots of narrow laws or a broad scope which then gets limited by case law

You’d think with all these right wing protestors they’d be in a better position come the 2022 election…

They’re not attracting anyone who isn’t already attracted to their message, it seems a pretty pointless protest.

cause newspolls are real accurate aren't they..

If people bothered to spend about 2 minutes looking into the facts rather than believing the BS that come out of the Andrews spin/propaganda team, they'd see the numbers behind it

https://www.pollbludger.net/2021/11/19/newspoll-54-46-to-labor-in-victoria-4/

"The poll was conducted Thursday to Wednesday from a sample of 1029."

That's right, 1029 people... would be interesting to see how, and from which side of politics, they polled (*cough - sourced, selected*) these people

Maybe instead of spending 2 minutes "looking into the facts", you could have spent 5 minutes googling how representative sampling is used to predict outcomes on a larger scale and then the rest of us wouldn't have to read this dumb post.

What you never should do is have a law that allows for detention at the pleasure of an “authorised officer” without the opportunity for review.

Believe me mate, and it might be better to take this angle offline, the abuse by police and local government of “strict liability” matters does not suggest such a thing should be extended.

I'll vote for this, small price to pay for living a relatively normal life.
Which is of course, entirely reasonable. But people who don’t want to get vaccinated generally don’t want to wear masks or QR code etc. No compromise. It’s got to the point where any measure is met with DICTATOR DAN, which of course plays right into his hands, especially when he’s actually removing restrictions.

This is why we get the sort of polling we saw today.

Don't need to, because I understand how representative sampling works, and methodologies where sample sizes are used to form any decent conclusion.

In this case, 1029 people is hardly a substantive enough sample to predict the result of a local council election where they'd be over 20,000 eligible voters, let alone a state election with a larger set of denominators.

Think before posting crap

Official goggle crowd geomapping verified 200,000 people protesting in Melb this afternoon.

Yet, the Andrews spin team and fanbois are obsessed with a newspoll which covered 1029 people

Oh, so you can provide an official google geomapping verified link?

That's on the unvaccinated.

Time to move on.
Not everyone can get vaccinated. Some people have legit medical reasons and can't get the vaccine (eg: immuno-suppressed, etc). Everybody who can get vaccinated should get vaccinated to protect these people.

We all get our childhood vaccines not just to protect ourselves but as a society to protect new born babies who are yet to reach the age to be vaccinated.

Anti-vaxxers put these people at risk as the fewer the % of the population vaccinated, the more a virus will breakout, spread and cause harm and death.

Measles for instance requires 95%+ vaccination levels otherwise there are outbreaks. In instances in the past where anti-vaxxers have promoted falsehoods about vaccines and conned a community to stop getting vaccinated allowing vaccination levels to drop, it has lead to unnecessary deaths. In Samoa only a couple of years ago, 63 people died from measles. Most them under the age of 5. Samoa as a result made measles vaccination compulsory.

In a civilised society, you don't get the "choice" and "freedom" to harm others.

Seriously? Wouldn't he have been better served reporting on the freedom march? Rather telling if that's where he chose to be, even if it was a quick detour.
Because its all about content

Confrontation is good for them, these are the guys filming themselves harrassing people eating at cafe's remember
