Back to your point on Goodes calling out racism, what part of what he said offended you?

Also not sure what facts you are referring to in the so-called 'trans debate'..... you are jumping all over the place!
I didn't say he offended me. The discussion on trans rights is just one example of where facts are cynically used to preempt argument. They're not the 'checkmate' that some people think they are.

What was inflammatory?

What facts are on trans rights are cynically used to preempt argument, you are not actually providing any evidence.

A sad example of sexism directed at a conservative female from those on the left.

Bigotry exists on both sides of politics and its usually directed at those on the other side.
She wouldn't be the only politician that's had grafitti and eggs thrown at her electoral office and her stalker is dead.

Could it be that the real reason she is quitting is because she only won the seat by a couple of thousand votes, and doesn't think she will win it next time -especially as there's unlikely to be another 1.7million in sports grants being pumped into the Boothby electorate before the next election.

Shorten gets to run for PM but Porter should be thrown out of parliament. No hypocrisy there.
Well it's almost as if they are two different sets of circumstances, isn't it? I mean, Shorten had his allegations fully investigated for a start. I'd say the real hypocrisy is Porter whinging about natural justice whilst simultaneously denying it to asylum seekers.

And failed, in no small amount due to the fact that people were uncomfortable with him, despite the allegations being investigated by police and him volunteering to be interviewed by the police regarding the matter.
... but Porter should be thrown out of parliament. No hypocrisy there.
When he hasn't been interviewed by police, police failed to proceed (for whatever reason), and the victim can no longer make her case. There's also the fact that he's the AT, and that position in general requires one to be nigh above reproach almost beyond that of a mere opposition leader.

False Equivalence? Story's not run its course yet? You've failed to put your pompoms away?

Will add this to my previous post about Nicolle Flint seeing as she somehow forgot to mention her campaign manager Sam Duluk in her speech to parliament yesterday.

Have a look at the factional ding songs in the SA Libs, Morrison was being very generous in giving Get Up all the credit for getting rid of Flint, her own party put in a fair effort to turf her as well.

The grab-bag of bogeymen.

“harassed on social media by GetUp, Extinction Rebellion and other left-wing groups, Mr Birmingham said.”

I find it odd how leftists want to believe the science when it comes to climate change, or Covid, yet this rational data driven approach doesn't extend to issues like police shootings, where they instead tend to take an anecdotal, cherry picking approach. Or when they do cite data it's without appropriate context.

And do these leftists also boldly proclaim things and make accusations whilst producing absolutely no evidence to support their position?

They actually don't need ID to vote in Georgia, they just need a social security number. Well, just the last four numbers of their social security number. Or any utility or government document, including welfare cheques, that has their name and address on it.

So that group of people who don't have a social security number, or welfare, or a fixed address, or any government or utility document showing their name and address, or any state ID which is free and automatically enrolls you to vote when you apply for it - those are the people the lawsuits are trying to protect.

This is just white replacement theory in legislative form dressed up as protecting democracy. If the Georgian Republicans thought non whites were more likely to vote for them you can guarantee none of this would be happening.

Why do you think that? A social security number is issued to African Americans at birth, isn't it?

There were something like 2000 votes that had to be thrown out at the 2020 elections that didn't have matching signatures and the addresses of the voters weren't able to be contacted, as they are required to do by law, to check the with the person to make sure their vote wasn't spoofed. That matters when the votes of some of the races in that state were decided by under 200 votes.

The Republicans under Trump have become nakedly racist and this is a racist policy designed to suppress minority voting rights, you can dress it up however you like but it's not going to change anything.

The people who don't think everything should be looked at through the prism of race are the racists now?

Interesting.

I think the reason the Democrats are so passionate about this is for the same reason the republicans are for it and the same reason why the Democrats were making so much noise about the census recording whether a person in the USA was there illegally or not.

More illegals in the nation leads to more power for democrat cities because their house distribute seats based on warm bodies, not citizenship.

So why would the requirement of the citizenship number issued at birth to vote be such a problem to them... I wonder...
